HI Anyone managed to track a copy of this down yet ? Had a good look around and now and again see it on ebay but I have resigned myself to the fact that it ain't coming out on cd for a while On another note I have Kenny Burrell Volume 3 on Blue Note TOCJ etc ...with my US copies of his other Blue Notes does that mean I am covered for both of the other japanese lps KBs Blues and Swingin ? I just looked a thte cds and it looks liek it when you line up the live set and Blue Spirit cds Any help appreciated especially on Freedom

Any of you more 'greasy ' dudes picked up this jazz critique book on jazz organ ....I have a few of them and yes they are mostly in japanese but I have the blue note, prestige, riverside and groove funk and soul ones but not seen this for sale before and wondered if anyone else has a copy yet? and who on here can do decent japanese for me to order it from the site? http://www.jazzhihyo.com/books.html I also saw this other one on jazz in the fifties which looked maybe interesting ...anyone got that ?

Not seen this before from France a rare ( ish) 45 cover Nice cover for a single Do you think I should send to it to the chappeis at Gokudo?

Other prices include: Johnson/Hines/Bunn sealed 1LP - $133.50 Hall/Johnson/de Paris/Dickenson - $167.49 The Hall et al Mosaic may seem merely a little overpriced, but the other day Artie Shaw's personal copy went unsold with a starting price of $99.99. ← Cripes a lordy...that is some nice sale and a huge paypal payout for the lucky person.

I feel a whole new world of swapsies coming on as I have never ever had these....next trade with US buddies must include a packet of these and in return I will send some equally disgusting and probably illegal back to you ( no not Naughty Sheep Weekly..something edible..no I know sheep are edible....something like Quavers or monster munch They have lots of everything in them -
At the very least even if a few of these scum bags escaped justice then they spent the last years waiting for the knock at the door from the police, never knowing when justice would catch em Sad news . I remember reading about him as a kid and marvelling then at his determination. Rest now in peace

I think I sense conflict here -_- Use the force to resolve your anger and learn to rip cds quicker -
nope ( as in I mean yep!) I have to say the Koln Concert touches me (but not in the Frank Bough way!) I love this cd and play it loads both on cd and MP3 If I have time with noone around then it is his piano playing that fills the rafters.....very loud and very selfish time for little ol ME! It does the thing that only a few recrods do for me.... I know it so I know what is coming next all over the piece and that thrills me in a record. I also have zillions of keith jarrett and the bremen etc concerts are very very good too but this one has a special place along in the desert island disc collection.( and that is a hard fought place!) Mind you I would have loved to have seen this or even a dvd ...then I would go away and die happy

Due greatings and felicitations from across the pond -
I second that and strongly recommend it for two reasons ...LEE and MORGAN Fantastic lp all round Get it now or be disapointed in the after life
-
I have all of these already from along time ago in some cases and also with the help of TOCJ releases but still good to see them all coming out again as that Lonnie Smith took me years to get after I traded the lp I had in...I was lucky enough to have two copies of that too! Could not get enough Lonnie Smith in those days......still can't although I never really got into Drives in a bid way

Aha! Panic (for me ) over with. Back home in the comfort of my own home and surrounded by music and not work! The cd I was referring to was Hipnosis from 67 and wasn' t in the Mosaic set. I had a cdr of an lp burn which served until the Grachan Moncur select was issued. I was lucky enough to have had Bout soul both as an lp then as the cd when that came out......but thanks for that anyway...I remember seeing that they only stuck the moncur tracks from this in the select...bit strange but I suppose the Grachan Moncur name leads that to happen Mystery and small Mclean panic over for me Thought for a minute there I had missed a set Goes to show what they have reissued of his over the years though including reissuing all the LT seried with him on (vertigo and consequence)......and the other goodies that sat around for years Now playing Eco from the Mosaic set on my pc to cheer me up after that nasty Blue Note wobble and I feelin damn good I do have to say that this set represents Mosaic at their best for me
-
In fact as punishment I will go home now and have a damn good read of the mosaic booklet! whilst listening to it too!
-
You mean it gets worse!!! Facts are hard to use when I have little or no brains I am confusing the two fers now....both of jackknife 2fers were on the mosaic correct? The Hipnosis 2 fer was the old jackie mclean quintet session and one with grachan moncur that saw the light in the moncur box set I will shut up now and please ignore all I have said about consequence, hi frequency, jacknife etc except that they are all very very good Yours humbly meek on issues discogrpahical whilst sat in my office ANdy

I had the Don Byrd and art blakeys mosaic they were brill! Sound was not good as they were well used and not used well but the labels and other stuff was great...I thought I could have used them in stead of stamps! Still got the art blakey somewhere I am sure...could not see the point in selling and my matey was looking at getting a jukebox for his kitchen but never did
