Yes, and we knew it would happen at some point, and we knew it would be painful when it does happen. I am consoled by the fact that I don't believe the Pats would have gotten past the Colts in the AFC championship even had they found a way to win in Denver. We weren't good enough this year. We were good, but there are better teams. Now we can get our injured people back on the field next year; work out which players we lose and gain by free agency; and use our extra mid-round picks in the draft to pick up some young blood. Football never ends. May the best team left win the Super Bowl! -

worried? no kidding! 5 frigging turnovers. Those two turnovers in the first half came just when we were taking over the game and beginning to dominate. This is a very painful loss. We had a great run; and we'll have to rebuild next year. We had 6 defensive backs on injured reserve. We need to heal and stock up for another run. In the meantime, I will certainly root for the Broncks to beat Indy, but I doubt that it will happen. It's Indy's year... -

After deep spiritual thought, my picks for this competitive weekend: CAROLINA (Bears will come in all fired up, but Carolina is the more complete team.) NEW ENGLAND (Belichick will find a game plan to frustrate Plummer and stop the Denver running game) INDIANAPOLIS (Steelers will give them a good fight, but Indy is destined this year...) SEATTLE (Team is way too complete for Washington.) Good luck everyone! -

I say "fine!" However, these scores shouldn't be combined with the regular season scores since they won't have equal rating. Whose the regular season champ, SS1? Just curious... -

Old Nojjy at it again... The word is D-Y-N-A-S-T-Y! And they "cheated" their way right to the top! Yes, I know the Dynasty is in great jeopardy with Indy on the prowl in the AFC... -

It's on TV and Detroit went into halftime with a 12 point lead. Outrebounded the Spurs by 15 rebounds first half as well! Damn! -

postscript... I just caught up by reading the entire thread. BeBop has been in interesting places at interesting times. I cannot imagine you going into Luang Prabang with an airplane full of friends unless you did construction work for the ex-Soviet government. No American was allowed in Laos in 1987 unless perhaps an officially-invited group looking for POW remains. Either you're making this shit up, or you are the fellow depicted in Free-For-All's picture. -

How the Hell did you get into Luang Prabang in 1987? Laos was pretty much closed to the world at that time. I went into Vietnam three times between 1985-6 via Air France, but Americans weren't allowed in at the time. Wasn't a Deithelm tour, was it? I remember that Diethelm were starting to offer flights into Cambodia and Laos around 1987. It was damned expensive, and I was loath to visit any more nearby Communist countries after denouncing the Vietnamese government in a couple letters to the Bankok Post. I was going to say that I've flown quite a few times, and didn't find anything too scary. I swear I did see the wings flapping on the old airplane we flew from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi in 1985 or 86 (can't remember which visit it was.) That had me alarmed for a bit. Lunch consisted of an orange... -

My Bank Was Robbed
connoisseur series500 replied to Soulstation1's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
I've been in the banking industry for 2 years now and so far have not been in a banking center during a robbery. Several of the banks in my "territory" have been robbed over the last couple years. I was just lucky to have been at a different bank when it happened. I'm not stationed behind the counter so I probably wouldn't be aware of a robbery as it is taking place. But they'd close down the bank, and everybody has to stay inside till the investigation is completed. That would be a pain, of course. It is very traumatic for tellers. There is a funny story about a robbery that took place last year. I'll tell it to those interested when I meet them in person. Don't know if I'm violating security or anything by relating it in a public forum. But knowing me, I'm likely to blurt it out soon enough... -

Just buy a whole new book of 39 cents stamps at a grocery store then stop at the post office in a couple weeks to get your 2 cents stamps. No big deal! -

Great game for sure. I think Houston would be nuts not to draft Reggie Bush ahead of Vince Young. Bush will make the better pro. Young looked terrific for sure, but running quarterbacks don't do as well in the Pros as pure pocket passers. Houston has David Carr already. Young is probably better, but Bush has to be taken...PERIOD! He would make an immediate impact and threatens breakout plays everytime he gets the ball in his hands. -
