  1. I like going to live shows; and I certainly like watching Organissimo play live. At the same time, I think we live in a busy workworld, and most people just don't have the time to go out and do things. That's why they like everything quick and compartmentalized. Maybe once the babyboomers all retire and have time to burn... Hope is around the corner! :rsmile:
  2. Incredible story. Amazing he survived all that alcohol.
  3. I'm a financial consultant for a bank and have a territory of six bank branches. In previous lives, I was a college lecturer, a stock trader, and an insurance agent. Haven't yet found a profession as interesting as my hobbies...
  4. Damn, Jim. That's not very good. I'm sure you wonder whether you can keep this up longterm. No wonder Joe works for the city.
  5. RainyDay, I believe -- but she hasn't been around in quite some time. So maybe no longer single??? RainyDay hasn't posted here since November 4 last year, but she's posting quite a bit over on JazzCorner. I think she was chased away by our posters who contributed to the "Playboy" thread.
  6. That means you're all black in my book Moose! While we are on this subject...my great grandfather and a couple of my uncles were said to have quite a few "illegitimate" children with black West Indians. These kids were born in the 1920s up to perhaps the 1950s in the islands. That means I've got quite a few black cousins. I never knew any of them. They all lived in the smaller islands while I lived in Jamaica. I have visited Montserrat and Antigua a few times and probably met a few of them as a kid, but I don't remember. Unfortunately, for the most part, the two races went their separate ways.
  7. Yeah, I'm curious to see if Paul's sister is hot. Only one way to fine out, Chris. What time will you be there?
  8. I hope connoisseur series500 doesn't chase them away with a comment about "weightlifter's arms". I was one of the lurkers today (very briefly.) I didn't want to sign in on my work computer.
  9. Pats should win this one handily. This is not to slight the Eagles in any way, but they are not in the same class. Pats beat them in the preseason this year (and last year as well!) And they beat the Eagles handily at Philly last year. Preseason is preseason, but the Eagles have shown the Patriots nothing so far. It is true that the Patriots rarely blow anybody out. That's not their game. They like closer contests where smarts and good organization make the difference. McNabb is having a terrific year, but he doesn't have the weapons Brady has. And Brady has the big game experience. Pats defense should be better than the Eagles' defense. Richard Seymour should return for this game.
  10. Hey Cannonball: Make sure you never discuss Shakespeare, or the Bible, or War and Peace, or try to understand the Mona Lisa. They were done by white folks; and only white folks can really understand them. But seriously... The whole point about art of this kind is that it transcends the immediate, the topical, the parochial, and the racial. It can appeal to many in different ways. It's open to all and everyone, brother!
  11. He looks like you just caught him redhanded. Good looking kid!
  12. Tony that's nothing! Look at how far Wes would have to go. Shall we be expecting you?
  13. And you're bringing your friend Brian along? Not that there's anything wrong with that.... He's a friend who doesn't post on the board. Keep him out of your jokes, pleeze. Thanks! (I'm a hetero, btw.)
  14. The police whistle is the most portable of all instruments! -_-
  15. I think Skid mentioned he'd likely make it. Hope to hear from him soon. Ghost is a longshot, but wouldn't rule it out.
  16. weightlifter's arms...
  17. Hoping that the Nessas and Uncle Skid and Upright Bill and GregK can make it this Saturday at the Firefly. I'll be bringing Brian (the band knows him) along with my sister. I've also invited a couple of other people who will be driving separately if they decide to come. Perhaps we can all meet for dinner beforehand?
  18. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't care if it was or wasn't a fumble. It was balanced the karma for that atrocious "roughing the passer" back in '76. Noj is too young to remember that, Kevin! Boy, I remember it though. It was a heartbreaker.
  19. Tell you what... It feels great to get past the tough Steelers. Scored 41 points agains the league's toughest defence just as they allowed Peyton Manning's best offense to score only 3 points. I like Jerome Bettis, but I got awfully tired of his quoting: "The wheels of the bus go round and round; round and round; round and round." Probably the only book he's ever read.
  20. Okay Ss1. Which cds you gonna buy?
  21. There it is! I am positive that this is what Bill Belichick told his players; and they did it. Tom Brady had a great game. Cool as a cucumber. Deion Branch showed his athleticism. Corey Dillon was barely a factor proving all the pundits wrong who said that Dillon had to have 100+ yards for the Pats to have a chance. Big Ben will be great for many years to come, but right now we're in the midst of our "dynasty." Ss1 just won $40, the lucky fellow. I won just a bagel! I don't bet much!
  22. This post belongs in politics. Misc non political belongs to football.
  23. That could possibly be true if not for the fact that I am, BY FAR, the most popular person on this board. Why, often I receive one -- or when this joint is really jumpin', TWO -- PMs PER WEEK! I'll bet you're eating your words now, eh mister? Sure beats my one per year!
