  1. They are little boxes symbolizing rank which people like 7/4 use as a substitute for writing posts with any real content.
  2. "How come the song doesn't sound exactly the same as it does on the cd?"
  3. There's such a club in San Francisco. There were the inevitable clashes between workers and their self-management, worries about expenses & benefits, etc. (I don't know if they're still in business.) I guess we shouldn't be surprised. It takes business people to run a business. It really does. These "collectives" are harder to pan out.
  4. I'd say he must be at least 135 years old. Gotta be that age to still believe that kind of horsecrap!
  5. I'm a frequent visitor and buyer of stuff from The Bastards. They send me new arrival updates via email, since they know how to get more $ out of me. I've got a love/hate relationship with the Bastards!
  6. Interessting story. Nice to see it work out for someone. What was her social and family life like? Was it stable?
  7. "That's it. I'm going to the crematorium cause I can't take this anymore!"
  8. I often wonder what it was like before the Industrial Revolution when people likely weren't devoted to things as we are today. Stuff seems so important to us today. Back then the focus was probably on people. One's entertainment was likely more people-oriented in those times. I guess we're poorer for it today.
  9. Clutter is worse for those who have lived in the same house for years. Moving residences often forces people into making tough but necessary decisions regarding getting rid of stuff.
  10. Now if public perception were modified and stripping becomes viewed as a legitimate and accepted career alternative, then it would be a great idea; and that counselor would be correct.
  11. I don't have a daughter, and I'd certainly be worried if one were to seek a stripping career for a period of time. But the $$$ to be made. The problem has to do with the mindframe necessary to untertake such an occupation. One would imagine that it could be indicative of other worrisome tendencies. If a girl goes into stripping then her resistance to going farther into related ventures such as prostitution might be lessened. That would be my greatest fear as a parent.
  12. Okay, since everyone is picking... Atlanta defeats the Rams Steelers over the Jets. They'll pull away again in the fourth quarter and win comfortably. Eagles over the Vikings. Colts over the Patriots in a close heartbreaker. This is likely where the Super Bowl steak for my team ends.
  13. or the "HoraceScope"
  14. "The music is great, but I don't like horns!"
  15. If Wynton is the greatest trumpet player of all time, who comes second?
  16. I hate to say this as a Patriot fan but... I'm rating the Colts as a slight favorite this weekend. I just think we've beaten them too many times in big games. They're due. But... if we can get past them, I believe the Pats will defeat the Steelers in Pittsburgh. And they will go on to win the Super Bowl. I just hope I'll be wrong this weekend.
  17. Go for it, Soul Stream!!
  18. The things people do with time on their hands...sheesh! Dust should do more damage than one's fingernails. Dust is actually quartz (with a hardness of 7 on Moh's scale?) while fingernails can scratch things with a hardness of four or less (roughly going by memory here--someone should check my facts.)
  19. Funny stuff. I basically agree with Weizy. I see nothing wrong with self-expression in football. At the same time, I do recognize that the NFL is so damned enjoyable because the league does what it can to contain the "punk elements." It's no NBA for sure. There's a strictness and sense of decorum in the NFL, which the NBA does not have.
