  1. I don't think I'll ever become a "believer." Nevertheless, I say "good for him!" I'm happy that the philosopher has managed to arrive at some kind of conclusion. For me, however, I don't think there will ever be any answers on the issue of God.
  2. Happy Birthday Dmitry!
  3. Greedy, greedy, greedy. -_- Now everybody wants one!
  4. And isn't it strange that nobody gets injured while they're all hitting the crap out of each other? In the meantime, NE and some other teams just can't play a game without losing somebody. Should mention the Panthers, Browns, Lions in this connection.
  5. Answer is "yes" to the shorter commute; and "possibly" to more online time. I think so... Boy, I started to hate Michigan. (Sorry B-3er, Joe, Randy, GregK, Dr. Rat, Chuck, Skid, etc...) More accurately, I started to hate the Detroit area. All you guys live elsewhere. Loved Ypsilanti! Still like Ann Arbor, though you have to be a millionaire to live there...
  6. Maren, Want to swap lumps of coal?
  7. Wow Maren, You got a bigger lump of coal than me!
  8. Thanks everybody. Sure hope I don't "hate" this one like I did the last...
  9. Sorry again, Dan. And pardon me if I misinterpreted. It was nice of you to offer to take on all the duties of running it. Perhaps next year? :rsmile:
  10. Happy Birthday Theo! Great son you got there, and I'm glad you didn't encourage him to take up the ukelele...
  11. Sorry Dan. A lump of coal for me then. Your idea had merit and I liked it initially. Unfortunately, the more I thought about it, the less I liked the idea of cd swapping. Then you have to add that I am going through a job change. I don't have the time to get involved in this sort of thing right now. BTW, don't be opposed to other suggestions. When we take an "our way or the highway" approach, we will find that many do decide to "take the highway." Cheer up!
  12. I've just quit my old job and taken on a new one. Don't know exactly when I'll be starting, but is should be soon. Couldn't have gotten it without the NASD exam. As I said to myself while studying, "I cannot afford to fail this exam." Sure hope things work out with this new position.
  13. Great game! I thought in some ways Jax outplayed the Steelers, but the difference was in the maturity level of the Steelers during crunch time. I saw a few questionable calls (or noncalls) on both sides. Officiating wasn't up to par. Jax was terrible in the red zone. That missed field goal in the first half proved to be the difference. Pittsburgh is a very tough team and they've got a challenging year-end schedule. Somehow, you expect that they will find ways to win. Great lines: both offensive and defensive lines. They also seem to be relatively injury free. Of course, this could change.
  14. Of course you are correct, Jim.
  15. Let's see how your second "upset" goes. That first one was a real bust!
  16. Lee Morgan is awesome. I also love Kenny Dorham. Overrated trumpet player? Wynton Marsalis is hard to beat as far as being overrated, but we all probably know that already. I really can't think of any others right now. Roy Hargrove is probably overrated as well, though I do like his stuff.
  17. Good point. I like the idea of rationalizing an OJC buying binge, but maybe waiting a little while will prove cost-effective as well. Either way, this is a useful thread. Check out this search of over 1,200 OJCs, in alphabetical order by artist — not so much to buy (Tower's bumped up their price line on OJCs), but to check sound samples and see what's out there ... Check out Late's search at your own peril! I just bought 8 cds.
  18. The guy whose posts are usually models of rationality and logic... hahahah!
  19. Nice to see the pic, you stubborn cuss!
  20. All we're doing here is adding to the man's stature by discussing him in such length... I don't know him very well, but we exchanged a few insults on AAJ once. Is he really this significant? Struck me as a nonentity.
  21. ss1 ever the optimist. Just because the Browns have reportedly had a good week in practice and seem comfortable with Terry Robiskie as coach, doesn't mean they'll beat the highly consistent Patriots who are locked in a battle for home field advantage with the Steelers. I say no chance. Now the Jags could very well beat the Steelers, who haven't looked that great over their past two games. They look due for an ass whuppin...they've got a tough remaining schedule as well. Look for them to lose perhaps a couple games before the end of the season. Pats might lose to the Jets at the Jets' home field. They should win all the rest. I predict they'll get home field by end season.
