  1. Also bear in mind that since they are stored separately, Mosaic sets and anything that didn't come in a standard jewel box are not included either. Why not play over your boxed cd sets as well? Or perhaps you've already explained why not on your initial post. (Can't remember.) I repeat that this thread is interesting. Now if 7/4 would stop his crude efforts to build up post count... Won't take long for Couw to jump in on that game... -_-
  2. I ignore the politics section. Whose this guy...Johnny E?
  3. I'll take the Bill Evans, "I Will Say Goodbye," pleeze...
  4. Bet it was a Patriots' game...
  5. I didn't vote because I don't have a strong opinion either way. Up to the ladies, I would imagine...
  6. Randy is 53 years old!? Acts like he's 12...
  7. The only one I never had before is "Action." I've been spinning that one a lot lately. Nice session. The last tune is especially good.
  8. Happy Birthday to one of my favorite drummers...
  9. Yes, keep me posted. Haven't seen you guys in a long time. I'll bring Brian; and we can get the recently-arrived Jim Dye to come along as well.
  10. I voted for a few stray firecrackers. If I were up on firework terminology, I could have provided a more accurate answer. I don't know the difference between a M1000 and an atomic bomb. B) I suppose they could very well be the same thing. Any MOABs in your town?
  11. That's one way to look at it, but unfortunately economics will always play a role. When you pay $30 for "Delightfullee" and $28 each for "Tender Feelin's" and "Profile," and "The Opener," like I did; while none of these has become any easier to find, then you can't avoid the economic issue. They're not likely to go cheap. Maybe you can find someone who can let them go cheap, but it might take an awfully long time. I suppose you never know what you could run into in a secondhand bin... All those sessions on your want list are good cds too (except I've never heard the Jutta Hippa)
  12. Conn 500, As many folks on this Board already know, I am not a dealer. With that said it is not my goal to end up on the "best" side of the deal nor the "worst" side of the deal. I am simply trying to add to my collection and I always try to see if anyone in need of a disc has something that I may be looking for. If I can find a trade that works for both of us then I consider that a win, win. I can assure you that the Board Members here are pretty astute when it comes to relative worth. When I spot a disc that I think board members may want, I try to let people know. If no trade deals show up, I usually pick the disc up for the first person that ask me to buy it. I sell it to them for what it cost me to buy, package and ship it. There are a number of Board Members who have received discs from me like this. I think most consider this very fair. As difficult as it may be to believe, there are a lot of Board Members who are interested in the music, not how much it will bring on ebay. I have been fortunate enough to meet many of them. I would like to think that I have helped them out on occasion, I know there are many who have helped me out as well. I certainly did not intend to offend anyone's sensibilities with my list. That just seems to be what I am looking for at the moment. I think Common Touch is a pretty good soul jazz session and is one that I do not see around here very often. I do know that certain titles seem to show up in certain parts of the country more often than other parts for some reason. Thanks for providing me the opportunity to clear all that up!! No problem, brother... Always good to explain things. BTW, I can offer any RVG for a JRVG of Duke Pearson, "Right Touch" (I'm only trying to improve my collection; surely there's someone out there dumb enough to take me up on this...) But seriously... What else you got for trade? I've got one or two from your want list I could consider trading if you've got something I need...
  13. This is actually both an interesting and entertaining thread. One couldn't exactly describe Dan's tastes as overly adventurous, but really we don't know much unless we know what he's got on vinyl as well. I suppose some of the "essentials" are on vinyl... In the meantime, I'm chuckling away at Chuck's shots and Dan's comebacks. This is an entertaining thread as well.....
  14. Shucks! I'd trade my own copy of "Common Touch" for any on that list too! I may be wrong, but I don't think the Turrentine is that difficult to find.
  15. Emailed ya, Jim. I'm giving it as a gift since your moving to my area. Probably best to just pick it up when we get together rather than mailing it.
  16. It's gone folks! Jim: didja get my pm? I got an "error" message.
  17. opened but brand new for only $13 postage included. Sells for $19.95 on the Rhino website. Bluesy material with Percy's homespun wisdom... It needs a good home... Checks or cash are fine.
  18. It's called "castration," SS1.
  19. Washed up fighter. But he can still beat a lot of the heavyweights out there today. Bangers keep their punch for a long time; but their chins become brittle. Tyson settled with Don King out of court for $14 million. That's chump change to the promoter, and it didn't dent Iron Mike's debt. His life is as tragic as Sonny Liston's and he probably won't live much longer than Sonny did. I wonder if boxing should be banned...
  20. Lon, I too was impressed by the quality of these two reissues. I feel the Wilson is below the standard of "Blue Groove" and "Love Bug," but it's still worth having. Waters did a great job of packaging. The price was also reasonable.
  21. "Hello, It's Me" was an old favorite of mine. I don't listen to pop music anymore, but I used to like that one.
  22. Best suggestion of all. Who gives a crap about Tom Evered? Or the old BNBB for that matter. We've created something just as good if not better over here. Let sleeping dogs lie...
  23. Be sure to ask them when they plan to copyright their name as "Dusty Groove (the bastards!)" B)
