  1. Appreciate the message, Rache, really do. I just feel the football gods were on our side all year. It was bound to turn. Being undefeated is an undesired curse. I just hope this loss shakes out all the transitory fans. I'm in it for the long haul, just as you are with your team, Rachel.
  2. If NE had won, it would have been Wes Welker, MVP. Moss was invisible for most of the game.
  3. I have no problems with the Giants' victory. They deserved to win the game. Our offense looked awful all game. They scored in the fourth quarter when the Giants "D" were sucking wind. Eli looked really shaky on that last drive. Asante missed an easy interception. Eli was in trouble and he tossed a miracle for a first down. The football gods wanted a NY Giants victory. I can live with it. I am not a fairweather fan. I care about being in it each year. The unbeaten record brought all kinds of supporters to the team, but I care more about being consistently good each year. As long as we stay good next year--and we should, I'm happy. If we had won the game, then Wes Welker--the smallest guy on the team was a shoe-in for MVP. I'm a little sorry about that. Kudos to the NY Giants!
  4. I don't know what ioffer dot com is nor do I care to know. Buzz off.
  5. I love Emmitt Smith to death. He's so damned funny. Here's a little compilation made by Jimmy Kimmel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy-Yx_yands
  6. Patriots vs Rams, 2001 The Rammies lost and rightly so. They didn't deserve to be there in the first place. Worst NFC representative beat down since Chicago pretended to be a Super Bowl caliber team in 2007. What an embarrassment that team was. Pats were far superior against the Rammies. As a longtime Pats fan, I must say that I have to disagree here. The Rams were a superior team that year. The Patriots, however, played better than the Rams in that game. I think they underestimated the Pats, and Marshall Faulk somehow became a nonfactor in the game, owing to some strange game plans by Martz. Rams would have won the rematch had there been one. The Patriots were by far the best team in the league when they won back to back Super Bowls a couple years later.
  7. Free=dick! oops, I thought this was live chat.
  8. I bought the Shirley Scott. I particularly recommend the Cedar Walton to whoever doesn't have it.
  9. I've had several subscriptions but at $100+ per year, I can no longer afford the magazine. Great reading though, and I appreciate the posts.
  10. I've lost count as to the number of passports, but I have a current US one and an expired UK/EU one, which I haven't used in 12 years. I feel no compelling reason to renew the latter one at the moment.
  11. Because Tom Brady was wearing a boot?
  12. I appreciate the posts. It's rare to find someone grousing about stuff from the Economist. Back to subject: when foreign governments invest in treasuries you have people wringing their hands over such influence. They fear that the foreign appetite for bonds could affect our credit rates. Now they fear when foreign governments buy our equities. Countries have to place their reserves somewhere, and the name of the game these days is diversification. They don't just stick them into dollars alone, nor do they buy gold exclusively, nor treasuries. Equity markets are fair game as well.
  13. Yeah Guy. Chuck doesn't understand this stuff. No Albert Ayler in the article.
  14. Stanley's tone was the best. Great selection!
  15. Jimmy had more moves than Michael Jordan. Nice to see him in a good mood on this set.
  16. Some sources say that Brady was suffering from flu-like symptoms in the AFC championship game, which might explain a poor performance. He'll come out smoking in the SB. With Maroney running well, expect some play action calls. A little ankle sprain shouldn't matter much to a non-scrambling quarterback behind an offensive line brick wall.
  17. Gotta throw Conn a (trom)bone now and then.... Too bony for me. That's not the point. It's chicks with trombones! Where are their chess ratings, Agg? lol
  18. This thread has already been irreparably derailed. Time for Agg to bring out his trombone babe pics.
  19. Good thing, Joe. I just hope you've recovered.
  20. Good news, Joe! I bet the important thing to you is that you now know who was involved. When you do not know then your imagination can conjure up all kinds of scary ideas. You didn't press charges. You are so nice, Joe. Man, I would have been hopping mad, especially since they hit me twice. But you have to take all things into consideration in these cases; and you apparently have. Good luck and sleep well from now on!
  21. Hey there are more than just a couple of women on this board. I, for one, am aware of several others who parade in bathing suits while clutching trombones. Aggie's got their phone numbers.
  22. From the Economist: http://www.economist.com/obituary/displays...ory_id=10559454
  23. Came across this nice shot of the lighthouse at Hole in the Wall from the Abaco forum. http://coconuttelegraph.net/forums/attachm...=6935&stc=1
  24. Based on today's market movements, the gloom of this article seems rather stretched. Time will tell, but Bernacke's move might prove to be brilliant. Market sentiment and psychology is important to our economy.
