  1. That goal really sucked.
  2. Will Crouch save the day?
  3. We have the game running on our office TVs right now. GO LIVERPOOL!!!
  4. I had a kobe beef burger on Long Island last year that was almost too good to be true.
  5. Thats how he was when I saw him. Pretty much killed the show for me. I can't stand obnoxious drummers.
  6. Somehow I'm thinking that this will be one of the last dates Concord chooses to give to RVG for the reissue treatment. Shame, because its a classic session.
  7. I want to get the Season 7 DVD set, and that will likely be the last one I buy. Seasons 8 and 9 had their share of moments, but something was lost with Larry David's departure.
  8. Ahhh...to live in NYC! Someday maybe.
  9. A few times, I've gone the incorrect route of verbally decimating a person's musical taste when they say something bad about my jazz (and its only the people who like bad music who open their mouths) at the office. Its had mixed consequences, but I'm still here, still work hard, and still get good performancce evaluations, so I don't care about much else.
  10. How bizzare! I just posted this question in the thread right below!
  11. Has anyone gotten the "Army of Shadows" Criterion?
  12. They also seem to have the K2's availiable!
  13. An article I read about the episode says that he said "I get it". Is there any way to view a script?
  14. Saw the newest episode....god, I hate tony.
  15. Out on DVD today. Its interesting to read more recent writings on this film....in retrospect, people are starting to realize what a special film this was. I predict that 20 years from now, this one will be held in the same pathenon as 2001, Solaris, and other classic mind bending films dealing with themes of life, death, and beyond.
  16. Good luck!
  17. Just wanted to chime in that I had my first visit to Amoeba a couple weeks back while vacationing in the Bay area, and I thought it was the greatest music store I've ever been in! May they stay open for many more years.
  18. Just heard on the radio that the Oliver Lake Trio is playing tonight at the Velvet Lounge. If I weren't out of town this weekend, I'd be there. edit to add that I just read that he's being backed by Harrison Bankhead and Dana Hall!
  19. I love this music as well, and I listen to it pretty often, especially during these warmer, sunnier months. And what makes this set even better every time I pull it out, is that I'm reminded of the sweet $39 pre-order price I got it for!
  20. Thanks! Missed that one.
  21. Today over at AAJ there is a review for Booker Ervin's "The Freedom Book" (amazing recording by the way), and in the body of the article the reviewer mentions a new "remastered edition", and a picture shows an RVG of this title. I didn't know this one was part of the RVG series....does anyone know about this? Its not on Concord's current list of RVG remasters. A part of the next batch perhaps??
  22. The Kerouac scroll on which he typed On The Road is currently on display at one of the museums here in Santa Fe. It's part of a fascinating exhibit which includes books, music, photos, videos, etc.. I believe a 50th anniversary edition of On The Road will be published this year. Yeah, I heard about that exhibit....I hope it makes its way to Chicago. I 'm loving this book. The fact that the main character's name is "Sal" is a nice bonus! The new edition of On the Road is supposed to contain additional material that was somehow censored from the original verison.
  23. Jack Kerouac - "On the Road"
  24. Yes, but at this point in your life, could you use some more Sonny Rollins, Hank Mobley, Booker Little, George Coleman, and Stanley & Tommy Turrentine??? edit to add, that all of the above are in peak form!
  25. Get the Roach set, people! (sheldonm, I know you're reading this!!)
