  1. I thought the early paperbacks started from the beginning; am I wrong? Just wondering as I still have the first few.
  2. Yeah, a visit to The Shrine is a must! Heck, walking around North Beach is worth a day anyway. This is just the movie buff in me talking, but I'd throw in a visit to the Stanford Theater in Palo Alto as well. You can take the train if you don't want to drive. Damn, this thread makes me homesick...
  3. I always shoehorned those into the glam rock category myself.
  4. Just finished The Associate by John Grisham. I give up; the man had one The Firm in him...there's nothing else here.
  5. Can I have those minutes back, please?
  6. I didn't warm to them at first either, but that first Moby Grape album would now be my first choice out of the whole scene. I'd miss White Rabbit, but I ain't giving up Hey Grandma...
  7. Mr. Peabody His boy, Sherman Boy George
  8. Ernest P. Worrell Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve P
  9. I hate to say it, but I usually enjoy the people making idiots of themselves in the comments more than the video.
  10. Ouch. And he comes back for another swing...
  11. Unbelievable. No wonder my joints are starting to hurt...
  12. I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm completely in the dark on this one. But if Cyd Charisse is in it, I'll have to check it out. That woman is hot!
  13. Only 32. Probably missed a lot obvious to most...
  14. Just finished watching Eddie Izzard: Dressed to Kill. This guy is insane! And I mean that in a good way...
  15. Uh oh...once again Matthew runs me off the site to Hulu!
  16. What is it with vegetarians? Are they embarrassed? Ashamed? Why do they insist on coming up with fake meat versions of meat dishes?
  17. I'm not sure why this strikes me as funny, but the first line of the wikipedia article on the Chicago Seven is "For the similarly named Chicago album, see Chicago VII."
  18. My eyes are burning!!
  19. I'm well up on current pop, dance and house, and it's a sad fact that nearly all female vocalists just make a squawking sound. Add in that hideous overused voice processing they use nowadays, and it's like listening to robotic weasels screwing in the garden...
  20. Sweet potato pie is better anyways.
  21. It's Lee Morgan; just get it all!
  22. Maybe I'll have a turkey sandwich at work that day. With my finances, I couldn't turn down double time and a half...
  23. Well, since you're in Texas, might as well try Blue October or Fair to Midland.
  24. No kidding. I remember drooling over those things in 1980 while I was in Japan.
