  2. Thanks for making my life so much richer, Mr. Jones!
  3. How dare you! I also post on the non political miscellaneous thread!
  4. As Falls Wichita So Falls Wichita Falls by Metheny is the LP that launched me on the jazz journey, so I definitely have a weak spot for that one. Don't know if I'd recommend it for others, though, as my weak spot doesn't do a thing for anyone else.
  5. What are you listening to on boozle, geezer, and shamalamadingdong?
  6. Well, that's kind of nasty, and both post more about jazz than I do... But then, maybe I'm next up.
  7. If so, what a horrible disaster for us that they don't have the courage to go with Plan B from the start. If this is the way it plays out, I don't think that cowardice will be forgiven.

  18. I thought I had some bad news for you, but then realized I was thinking about Pollock, not Lumet. If it's this bad at fifty, what's sixty going to be like?
  19. They seem to do a good job on the great controversies of our time... http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Global_Boring
  20. It always amazes me how real and lifelike the photography on the Twilight Zone is, particularly compared to shows from the seventies which seemed washed out and phony even at the time.
  21. Was just watching the Vitali Klitschko-Juan Carlos Gomez fight. Damn...heavyweights are shit these days.
  22. The south I knew wasn't too far off, though it was more a sixties version of The Hamlet than and Sound and the Fury. As for O'Conner writing comedy, I guess I haven't been exposed to many discussions of her. I hadn't heard that before. I know I haven't read enough of her work, but what I have read I would describe as 'unsettling' rather than 'funny'.
