  1. Too bad you can't find some whiz kid to check out the way it was set up, just in case. I was an electronics technician in a former life, and I can vouch for the fact that they're just as prone to run into an occasional attack of the stupids as anyone else. Or maybe it was just me...
  2. I don't normally come to this thread, but really...Wisconsin? Friggin' Wisconsin??
  3. Estes Kefauver Fredrick Wertham William Gaines
  4. C'mon, Kinkade isn't that bad. He's no Keane, and he hasn't come up with that one recognizable classic like the guy that did Dogs Playing Poker, but give him time...
  5. Shoot, if I was smart enough to shut up and do as I was told, I could have made a great record if Sly and Robbie were in charge. I almost had them convinced to record my epic ode to breakfast cereal, but when I told them the title was "what is life", they just kind of stared at me and walked away...
  6. Green plastic sheet? So that's why my mother got pissed...
  7. The only 'drawing toy' I remember is the old Spirograph, an amazing toy that sets the record for going from "this is cool" to "this is boring". A minute and a half, if I remember correctly...
  8. And you saw this show? Have I mentioned that I hate you? (Okay, envy would be a better choice of words...) Damn.
  9. Harry "One is Thelonious' Number" Nillson Jimi "'Scuze me while I kiss this guy" Hendrix The "schoernahsgzskereuohhshsh" Kingsmen
  10. Moon Martin Steve Martin Martin Balsam
  11. You know, I've been thinking about digging those Holmes books out again; I haven't read them since I was a teen. I wonder how well they hold up.
  12. You're being ridiculous. I hear the sun came up this morning as well...
  13. Burt Ward Bruce Lee Jay Silverheels
  14. Now I'm flabbergasted; I had assumed it was at least from Let it Be...
  15. Don't feel bad; I'm sure you could kick my ass with a blindfold and gloves...
  16. A couple (or more) years ago, the local (in Louisiana, I think) PBS station broadcast a performance of Porgy and Bess, and I sat down in great anticipation. Ten minutes in, I turned it off and put Ella on the stereo. Call me lowbrow, but I prefer my music with a little soul and passion...
  17. This frightens me.
  18. Rose MacGowan Daisy Mae Yokum Flower
  19. I finally met someone who saw the movie but had never read the book, a young (20 or so) coworker. He thought it was fantastic, so the fear that not knowing the material would render the film incomprehensible apparently is overstated. On the other hand, he does now have a fear of giant, swinging blue penises...
  20. I can relate to that. I have been that far down, and, strange as it sounds, I couldn't go through with it because I couldn't abandon my cats. For some reason, even though I'm pretty much an athiest, and have no belief in an afterlife, deep down I'm still convinced that hell is reserved for people who abandon cats...
  21. And this guy is apparently thicker than both...
  22. That's "thou shalt not"; Shrdlu prefers the King James version...
  23. Wow. I could talk smack for a couple of minutes...
  24. Hey, for a good meal, I can make up something really convincing...
