  1. I'd hardly call Watchmen a "super hero franchise". I can't see any self-respecting fan of the book ever seeing a sequel, even if one was made. And while those hardcore comic fans "wag the dog" far too often in these movies, I can't see one making it at all without that audience.
  2. Ellie May Jethro Bodine Jed Clampett
  3. That sounds very alarming to me. What's next? Am I at risk of being surrounded by Caruso impersonators in the near future?
  4. Definitely studio; couldn't have been live...
  5. I'm too lazy to look and see if Roberta Flack has been mentioned, but surely she has...

  8. I think everyone's seen it except for me and you. You go ahead; I don't want to jump on any trends...
  9. Damn...the only chain I remember from Macon is Dairy Queen!
  10. Damn it, Spike Jones should be on this list, just because!
  11. Burgess Meredith Cesar Romero Julie Newmar
  12. I haven't seen Macon since the midseventies; what did I miss?
  13. I dunno. I guess it depends on what you're looking for in a vacation, but I can think of several places I'd try before one in the Atlanta area. Of course, an hour outside the area could be Macon with the right car...
  14. Damn, Jim; if you don't quit pumping up your post count with one-liners like this... Yeah, I agree as well. You know, one thing about Paul Harvey: I didn't care for his style or his show in general, but if I happened to hear him over someone's radio, I'd always move closer to hear better...
  15. Mo Vaughn Robert Vaughn Vaughn Monroe
  16. So our last ties with the 19th century are gone. How old was he, 143?
  17. Stephen Fry Hugh Laurie Rowan Atkinson
  18. Who the heck is Denny Zeitlin and why is that name so familiar?
  19. I guess I've been lucky; the closest I've come to this is getting a call from the card company about a suspicious charge in Europe for some weird CDs. But of course, in my case, it was legitimate...
  20. Bummer. The name sounded familiar, but I couldn't place it until I saw "Miss Brahms".
  21. Ah, yes; a career in the entertainment industry could be a good move for tough times!
  22. No, there is another path: I just don't care. I would agree back when Roger Moore replaced Connery that I had to accept the fact that Connery was gone and Moore was the new Bond. But as I quit watching Bond movies after Live and Let Die, "the new Bond" just doesn't have any involvement with my reality at all. It's just another action movie to skip for me. Mind you, I'm not criticizing the new movie at all; I have no information about it and won't see it. It might be great; it just has no relevance for me. If I get some desire to watch a Bond flick, I'll grab a Connery. Well, guess who just saw Casino Royale and is here to eat his words... Craig is (unless this first film was a complete fluke) one of the top three Bond actors, I can't wait to see Quantum of Solace, and I'll catch the next Bond flick in the theater, the first since I saw Live and Let Die and assumed the whole thing was a cruel joke everyone was pretending to be in on...
  23. He already was on Money Jungle! Here we go again.......... The classics never go out of style...
