I agree. Was once a big boxing fan, but between the high incidence of Alzheimer's (see just about any ex-pug's obit) and predatory managers like Don King, the sport totally turned me off. If we're going to ban sports because of damage to the athletes, we'd better throw football into the mix as well. On the other hand, Don King is a pretty convincing argument...

Perhaps Roger should consult Gaylord Perry; he seems to be confused about the technique of greasing the ball... -

I HATE DVRS! I wimped out and crashed after Federer went up 2-0 in the fourth figuring that I'd watch the rest of the match tonight. I didn't plan on the recording stopping just three games later. Dan, I'd say Federer had more problems than just his serve, although that was a big one. He couldn't win a break point to save his life. Nadal kept giving him opportunities, and he just couldn't cash in. When Nadal got the opportunity, he snapped it up promptly. Nadal didn't seem at all well, physically; the previous match seemed to affect him quite a bit. But he still had what it takes. If this match was any indication, Sampras may have a longer wait than he thought to enjoy his record... -

Just twenty minutes to go! Of course, that's easy for me to say; it's only 12:20 AM here... -
Bull. the music is a "listener's item"; a "collector's item" is a collectable, which sure as hell isn't a CD-R.

You left out moron, as proven convincingly by your first paragraph. This seller is a friggin' idiot.

Well, the answer that comes to mind is that wrestling is already acting, while boxing isn't.

OMFG...Serena is the Goddess of tennis!!! She didn't just win, she humiliated her opponent! However, as much fun as that was to watch, I hope tonights match is a little more competitive. -

Good selection of Echo & the Bunnymen, but you need some Psychedelic Furs and Teardrop Explodes. Plus more Joy Division and New Order. Oh, wait; you're looking for jazz recommendations, aren't you?

Not on eBay, he wouldn't. Unless they've changed the rule, selling CD-Rs is a violation of the eBay Terms of Agreement. I'd notify eBay about this. And neg the shit out of him.

Damn. Reading this thread says a lot about how so many posts are made here...

That's easy. X=(Y/200)*1^Tiny Office, all multiplied by the impossibility quotient should deliver the answer...

Dude, you've got to go back and watch it; no way the final will be this good! (Hopefully I'll have to eat those words, but I don't see how...) Verdasco may have lost, but he proved that he belonged on the big stage. If he doesn't get more chances at a major title I'll be shocked. On the other hand, I'm never impressed with someone who has to look to their box between every point. Verdasco really needs to trade faces and shouts with his coach to get pumped up? One would think that being in the semifinals of a major would be enough... -

You are in for one major treat, my man! -
I think you're pretty safe; I had an article about the last time there was no shortage of nurses, but I threw out all of my chiseled stone publications a few years ago... I guess misery loves company, because it's encouraging to see that I'm not the only one coping with tough times. Luckily, I haven't been laid off, although I'm down to thirty hours a week on the job. Still, better a crappy paycheck than no paycheck at all. As for the depression stuff, that's even scarier, since a job disappearing probably means your healthcare is disappearing as well. In order to cut corners, I went off my meds about four months ago. I don't recommend this at all, but as it turns out, I'm somewhat better than I was back when I went on the meds, and they weren't doing that much anyway. I can hold it together for long enough to do my job, anyway. However, if I don't get a cat soon... (After rereading this post, I guess saying I don't recommend dropping your meds is kind of obvious...)

Well, I don't think enough of us are watching to give it it's own thread... I have to admit, I would have liked to see Suarez-Navarro hang around a little longer.

Wait a minute; a spammer went through and picked this thread from six months ago? That kind of dedication should be rewarded! Maybe we should start a "banned bozos hall of fame" or something... -

I've read most of his books. The early ones were okay, but either he's coasting at this point, or there's just so much you can come up with in legal drama. Most common coversation between two Grisham fans: Fan #1: "Have you read the new Grisham book?" Fan #2: "Yeah." Fan #1: "How is it?" Fan #2: pause. "Well, it's not The Firm." Fan #1: "Yeah". Group sigh follows.
