  1. Sorry, Bruce; I tried to play along, but that's the best I could do...
  2. Yeah, for some newbie to come in here and start dumping on the great Kenny G....okay, Simply Said wasn't so hot, but Persuance was a great disc! And what about Songbook??
  3. I once listened to a home recorded 8 Track (yes, Virginia, 8 Track recorders actually existed once....) of nothing but Airplane's White Rabbit for eight hours, but of course this record should be disallowed as it was most definitely drug assisted...
  4. Damn it!! It told the wife I should have kept that!
  5. I don't know the person, or what their musical background is, so this may not be an appropriate suggestion, but have you considered something a little more modern?
  6. Nothing made me realized how dated this movie is like watching it with my wife. But I still love it! (More to the subject, I always loved the music being played at the party where Lemmon spikes the "Old Bat"s drink...)
  7. Jazzmoose

    Elvin is dead

For once I agree with Aric.
  8. I should point out that I do have an actual Airborne Express delivery person sealed in a plastic bag in my closet (alas, with airholes, unfortunately) who hand delivered my Tristano/Konitz/Marsh set. He was in mint condition, but he claims to be getting "kinda hungry". Any trade offer will be entertained...
  9. Well, I need to know which set it was before I can make an offer, and of course, if the socks actually made contact with any portion of the set, box, booklet, shrinkwrap, etc. And please be specific: which sock (left or right) made contact with what Mosaic ephemera?
  10. I dunno...I prefer Them Dirty Blues, In San Francisco...these are too high-falutin' for me I guess... Besides, this is meant to be a serious "thinning of the herd", although I don't see that much more room on the shelves now that I glance over there...
  11. Okay, that's all the jazz, near jazz, sorta jazz. If I decide to hit the nonjazz stuff later, I'll add more, of course...
  12. Okay, lame joke, and only SF fans can relate anyway, but the following ARE for sale; prices include shipping. 13. Somebody better move fast; apparently the sucker hasn't heard about the recent price swings on those pink invoices!!!
  14. Damn; late again...you'll have to wait another year for my patented "moose in the cake" dance. Be thankful! And happy birthday!
  15. Frank is an embarrassment? You want I should come over with a couple o' guys and....
  16. Whoa. Is that Zippy the Pinhead in the electric chair???
  17. I dreamed of getting a hummer back in high school. Of course, that was the early seventies, and it meant an entirely different thing back then...
  18. Wise you are young Jedi; swing it does and essential it is! Yeah, it's always smart to ask one's elders. Ooooh....a smart ass this one is....not sure is Yoda...
  19. Wise you are young Jedi; swing it does and essential it is!
  20. Well, I know we've pretty much come to the conclusion that Mosaic doesn't ship sets strictly in numerical order, but still... My Morgan/Shorter is 1689; the Kelly/Chambers is 1719. There can't be a whole hell of a lot of these puppies out there it would seem... And a P.S. to John Tapscott: After listening to the first disc of the Chambers/Kelly set, CANCEL MY VOTE!!! I have no idea which of these two sets I would go for if I had to choose...
  21. I'm really up in the air about this one. Most Mosaics I can easily throw on one list or the other right away. The Four Freshman was a "no", the Berigan was a "yes, eventually", the Mulligan was a "can't wait", etc. This one and the Mildred Bailey I just have no idea. I picked up a Hackett CD for fifty cents when the Wherehouse was going under, and I see the appeal, but to spend Mosaic bucks for a whole set? I dunno...
  22. I hear that. Only places I've been to around there are Singapore and Hong Kong. Downtown. And of course, those were experienced as a drunken sailor, so I don't remember much other than cheap bootleg cassettes...
  23. You know, when it comes to brand name quality, I really have to wonder whether any big name is worth it in video. Best VCR I ever had was a cheapie Goldstar that lasted ten years and looked great. Beat the heck out of the fancier brands I had before and have had after. Maybe it's all just a matter of luck, I don't know.
  24. Hmmm...probably does. Guess I'd better 'fess up on that one as well!
  25. I had a comment in mind, but I just realized I was confusing the Lounge Lizards with the Flying Lizards...
