  1. Jazzcorner I think so...
  2. Alfred, if it's any consolation, it has received mixed reviews so far...Near the bottom....

I agree; Electric Bath is just incredible. One of the "must have" albums of jazz, as far as I'm concerned...
  4. Damn you're fast! I was all excited that I was going to get to break the news! Well, I'm still excited; I should have this by the end of the week!!
  5. I cannot afford to buy these at this time. I cannot afford to buy these at this time. I cannot afford to buy these at this time. I cannot afford to buy these at this time. I cannot afford to Guys, it's not working...
  6. Uh...so what would it take to get you to start a new thread with some Bakersfield country recommendations? I've got a couple of Buck Owens LPs, but I've always wanted to check out the scene...
  7. I've been at Jazzcorner for the last two days with no problems. .
  8. I've a mustache and goat for almost 20 years, so my chin and upper lip would probably freak if ANYTHING got near them, but for the rest, I use the previously mentioned Mach 3. A damn fine product, much to my surprise. I currently use whatever shaving cream is on sale, but have dropped hints about a cup & brush for Christmas, so that may change. I always shave in the shower, for that extra moisture in the hair. I don't know what this "up and down" stuff is; the phrase usually doesn't come up in the shower unless the wife is in there with me ; for me it's one pass WITH the grain, then one AGAINST for closeness... I tried an electric once for about a month; I was most definitely NOT impressed with the quality of the shave. Plus I missed the ritual...
  9. Damn Mac'ers!!
  10. Thanks guys! Anyone else? Jacknife, basically anything audio. I know that there's a nice system sometime in my future (although maybe not until we move from this area in retirement, but who can say?), and I'm just looking for ideas. As a former solder slinger, I kind of like the idea of building my own, but anything that gets me thinking (or dreaming!) is of interest at this point. I just figured that I could count on people here having good stuff already at hand rather than googling up a bunch of questionable stuff...
  11. The local jazz station (KCSM) has played Nelson's Stolen Moments (the song, not the whole album!) so many times over the last year, that I've reached the point that I know I'll never listen to that disc again. Or at least for many, many years. It's a shame; it's one beautiful tune, but enough is enough. As many times as I've heard My Favorite Things, I can still conceive of listenging to it again at some point... Noj, there are quite a few discs on my shelves that almost fit the category, and won't be listened to for a loooong time. But after putting in Blakey's The Freedom Rider the other day, I know that anything can happen. I can't possibly even guess at the number of times I've listened to that, but I got the urge, ya know?
  12. The one that was small enough that it loaded before I lost patience...
  13. Okay, I am totally grossed out now...
  14. You know, if I was to get a tat, that would be the one for me!
  15. Do her lips move when he sings?
  16. Thanks. I was only part of the "in crowd" for three days in 1979; I'm still a bit sore about it!
  17. Thanks, guys. Bev, it could very well be that I heard a track with Costello and that was what hooked me; a weakness of my youth... I'll keep in on my "new CDs to buy" list! (And hopefully quit buying stuff from board members long enough to act on it!!)
  18. Goddamn it, Catesta; you know it drives me up a wall when you people use this trendy newfangled slang!!! Now what the hell is "blingbling"? Obviously not what I thought...
  19. I realize that this is hardly a "new release" at this point, but this forum made more sense than reissues, so... Anyone heard this? I heard one song from it months ago and was impressed enough to add it to my "want list", but as I no longer remember what I heard or why I liked it, I'm looking for some other opinions. What say you?
  20. I came close to getting one while in the Nav, but by the time I was drunk enough to do it, I was too drunk to stagger to the tattoo parlor. I'm glad it turned out that way.
  21. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Okay; I'll give it a shot...but if something goes wrong, I'm going Portuguese on yer ass!!
  23. Hmm. I guess I'm more paranoid than you guys; I ain't downloading shit from someone who just signed up...
  24. Bless you. Need a hankie?
  25. Damn!!! There goes the title to my new book; I'll have to sue!
