    Happy Birthday Anthony Braxton!
  2. Autographed by Terje Rypdal?!?!?!? Way cool.
  3. When Zappa's Shut Up and Play Your Guitar came out I was excited and mentioned it to a friend. He said it wasn't melodic. In fact, there's nothing but melody. Perhaps that was just his way of saying it didn't sound like the Allman Bros.
  4. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
  5. Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' Targeted for Plagiarism Lawyers representing the group Spirit claim song's intro resembles their 1968 track "Taurus"
  6. and a modular Moog too.Don't forget the melotron.
  7. As data. You wouldn't be able to stream from it or I doubt you could. "But if you're dreaming of someday popping that tape into some sort of digital-age boombox and pushing "play," you may be in for a bit of a disappointment. Tape has the potential for massive data storage, but it's unwieldy to actually use. Recording to, and retrieving data from, tape takes a lot longer than digital storage devices and players we've become accustomed to in an era of Web streaming. So, it's a lot more likely that tape will be used to back up huge databases than to save, and play, our music collections. That's too bad. We liked the idea of needing only one cassette for a cross-country drive."
  8. That's data storage, not audio.

  12. No. The huge jazz box sets (Miles, Herbie Hancock) are still kinda expensive. Older OOP boxes like Mosaic should come back as bargain boxes but they don't.

  19. What else will you live to see--how about a Janis Joplin stamp, which is coming out later this year. Do not care for Janis Joplin, don't want my mail to be painfully screaming all day long, sorry. I know what you mean.
  20. After The Deluge: Henry Cow's Unrest Revisited Sean Kitching speaks to Chris Cutler for a very personal appreciation of Henry Cow's Unrest album and has some recommendations to make for further listening

  23. I still have my G&L S500 fretless gtr. I haven't been playing it, but it's time again. Needs lighter strings, I have .011 flatwounds on it as an experiment. .010s are more responsive.
