    Oregon (the band)

I thought Oregon would have found a permanent home at ECM...maybe they don't have the kind of distribution that kind of music needs. Ralph seems to do more shows with the band than ob his own these days. I've probably said it before, I like Towner's solo albums more than Oregon. Although I do have a few favorite albums by Oregon...
  2. 2000 Music Man Sterling fretless bass I sold this to a dealer last weekend, needed the cash. I really haven't played it much in the past five years. I didn't want to piss off the neighbor across the hall and once she got kicked out of the building, I was too busy with guitar. Still, I'm gonna miss this bass. Fretless is so much fun.

    Oregon (the band)

I finally got to hear the band play at Birdland last year, he didn't play much guitar.
  4. I didn't know he was still on.
  5. The band gets pants!

    Anthony Braxton

    this is true.
  7. An improvisation from the same period: "Venus and a Moon setting in the West, a view through the trees Synthesizer improvisation, 1999. Korg 05R/W tuned in the system of intervals from the harmonic series known as just intonation. I don't know how long this track will be on line, so check it out now." https://soundcloud.com/davidbeardsley-microtones/venus-and-a-moon-setting-in
  8. I was fortunate to hear Ravi Coltrane and Luis Perdomo play duets at Hamilton Stage in Rahway, NJ last night. On stage interview with Gary Walker (WBGO) and an hour set recorded for NPR. We're so lucky to have world class jazz in our tiny town. I heard Charles Tolliver there in December and Steve Turre last month.
  9. I have a couple of music only DVDs that sound incredible. They're recorded and played back at a higher sampling rate, right?

    aloc

Years ago, I used to be accused of posting unnecessary shit. Imagine: starting a thread to stimulate discussion on a discussion board. I didn't even notice alocispepraluger102 was missing.
  11. The party is on...and I'm listening now.
  12. Nice guitar. I've started to thin the herd, I've had a D'Angelico Excel (c.2006-2007) on Craig's List for two weeks. There's been a few nibbles.
  13. Happy Birthday, Wes!
  14. I have that box of string qts. Missed this thread the first time around.
  15. And it probably the best fucking recording of a garden shed you'll ever hear.
  16. My Dad bought stuff from them for years, I still have the vinyl in my collection. Oakhurst is a dinky little town between Long Branch and Asbury Park. New Jersey is full of tiny towns I've never heard of, even though I've lived here all my life.
  17. Ben Goldberg with Craig Taborn and Ches Smith.
  18. I don't know if I need Tony Williams - Joy Of Flying that bad, but I'd love to have it on CD.
  19. It wasn't even in the music section. The header says "N.Y. / REGION|NEIGHBORHOOD JOINT | EAST VILLAGE".
  20. The Stone is all about some obsessed fans. When the Knit was still on Leonard St, there was an article in the Voice about how they were bad for business because they didn't drink.
  21. Can you BYOB? Nooooooooooooooooooooo! No food, no drinks.
  22. I like Irabagon's playing. Heard him with Altschul last year at Roulette.
