  1. I'm looking forward to this album, I really like this group, enjoyed the three Verve albums.
  2. I thought Ornette Colemans birthday is in March.
  3. I loved the English hard rock bands of the late 60s/early 70s. There were only a handful of American bands that I liked. ZZ Top, Johnny Winter, the Allman Bros...maybe a bit of Aerosmith, BOC, Hot Tuna. Zappa and Beefheart were something else entirely and didn't fit in to this, although the various Magic Bands could play some mean, heavy blues at times.
  4. There's different kinds of Buddhism.
  5. 7/4

    Anthony Braxton

    All or mostly bowed too.
  6. This arrived in the mail today. In what perhaps is a first for the "OAC" series, the box had a little booklet inside with track listings (that are readable!) and a picture of Williams, in addition to the mini-album covers. I want. I've been listening to this today: Young Croatian hot shot Ana Vidovic.
  7. Looks like something I'd want....and I do.
  8. "He studied composition and theory with the Greek composer Iannis Xenakis, among other teachers, and experimented on his own, playing and writing in a variety of forms, including classical music; he wrote a series of fugues and inventions for guitar and a concerto, “The Blues Suite,” for guitar and orchestra." Surprise! Didn't expect that.
  9. Looks interesting. I should go on a blitz and buy as much vinyl classical gtr albums as I can get my hands on.
  10. a little slow, plodding.
  11. John Williams – Iberia Something I picked up a few days ago, the attention to detail is stunning...such a rich tone, there's a lot of passages with harmonics.
  12. Jazzbo nails it, but I'd like to see the track listing and find out what exactly is dis?
  13. I'll probably pick this up. Hopefully an Abercrombie box with Arcade, M & Abercrombie Qt is in the works too. How about some live dates from that era with Abercrombie? Or something special from Ralph Towner?
  14. Density 21.5 for handbell solo
  15. Take it to someone who knows what they're doing. The set up is screwy...sounds like a nut or bridge issue.
  16. Elliott Carter, Composer Who Decisively Snapped Tradition, Dies at 103 AN APPRAISAL: Elliott Carter, Master of Complexity Daniel Barenboim Remembers Elliott Carter
  17. Still no power in my NJ building.
  18. Isn't Ian Gillan of Deep Purple playing the part of Jesus? Not quite a jazzer.
  19. Odyssey of Iska?
  20. Mathew Shipp on David S Ware.
  21. I recognise him, seen him around but didn't know who he was.
