    Ed Bickert

I dig Ed a lot, have a couple of albums. It's sad that he retired, but that's his option.
  2. I'd like to hear Wayne with Marc Copland. Shorter is getting on in years, I'd like to hear him record more often.
  3. I don't know if this quote is real, but it's relevant.
  4. I listened to the NPR streaming version twice and I like what I heard. I'm looking forward to getting a copy of the cd soon.
  5. Uh....gee wiz?
  6. That Tele looks sweet! Not too interested in the Epiphone now, even though I almost bought an original like that in high school.

    Jack DeJohnette

Those radio broadcasts are out there!

    Jack DeJohnette

...and then there's that live Jarrett, Sleeper, from his European group that they put out last year. I tend to think they have a vault full of live material, at least.

    Jack DeJohnette

I thought it's the Jack DeJohnette Trio, I hope he releases a lot from that group.

    Jack DeJohnette

The ECM years, '70's to mid '80s are the best! Beautiful recordings. ...and any day now, we'll have another collection of his work with Miles.
  11. I would've expected you to check out the 3 cd Jim Hall Artist Share release. For me, jazz guitar may not get better than this! Someday I will!
  12. here's mine: http://harmonicsdb.wordpress.com/2013/01/20/notable-releases-of-2012/
  13. Happy Birthday Jeff!
  14. Thanks folks!
  15. Thanks folks...feeling old this time around. (that's the shit Shawn!)
  16. Thanks for remembering!
  17. I now have a copy of that John Williams box, I'll be listening to it when I'm on the road this week.
  18. I'm looking forward to this album, I really like this group, enjoyed the three Verve albums.
  19. I thought Ornette Colemans birthday is in March.
  20. I loved the English hard rock bands of the late 60s/early 70s. There were only a handful of American bands that I liked. ZZ Top, Johnny Winter, the Allman Bros...maybe a bit of Aerosmith, BOC, Hot Tuna. Zappa and Beefheart were something else entirely and didn't fit in to this, although the various Magic Bands could play some mean, heavy blues at times.
  21. There's different kinds of Buddhism.

    Anthony Braxton

    All or mostly bowed too.
  23. So you're neutral on Neil? 'cause Geddy Lee's voice can't possibly be a positive. I've heard better sounds after stepping on a cat's tail... His voice is unique and I dig it. Neil's ok, Alex is derivative. All their musical influences seem to be British rock bands and any classical, jazz or otherwise only make brief appearances.
  24. Geddy Lee's voice and bass playing are the only thing Rush has going for it. It's a shame about DP, but the hall is a joke!
  25. This arrived in the mail today. In what perhaps is a first for the "OAC" series, the box had a little booklet inside with track listings (that are readable!) and a picture of Williams, in addition to the mini-album covers. I want. I've been listening to this today: Young Croatian hot shot Ana Vidovic.
