  1. Yes, I turned on the tuner at 8... Did you get to hear it on the net?
  2. I don't intend to interrupt the discussion here... Just to talk about another new release, the new Ganelin trio record in front of their first Chinese audience released on Leo Records is extremely enjoyable, and the sound is excellent. I understand Leo Feigin who believes it will become one of the best records in his catalogue.
  3. The one directed by Gil Evans from a different series is apparently very good
  4. From that period of SAJ, there is also the Umlaut box, "Stockholm connection" from this year.
  5. Looks like a plan. AACM at 50 celebration concert was a very special moment! Roscoe Mitchell was extraordinary in the old and fancy high ceiling concert hall, but all acts were truly memorable. Where is this celebration tour going to next?
  6. I got the Threadgill box during this sale. Just received it yesterday and have already listened to half of it, fantastic music! Up to here, I admit to only having Air Time by Threadgill and Air. Such a great collection of music!

  8. It's not an easy time for the whole field promoting this type of music here in France, I really hope that Ayler Records will find the necessary funds to continue!

Planning on seeing this at IBeam Brooklyn: Laubrock, Johnson, Johnson & Takeishi / Jasmine Lovell-Smith’s Towering PoppiesTuesday, August 25th 8:30 PM $15 Suggested Donation.Would of loved Steve Reynolds' suggestion or the Gerry Hemmingway dates but wasn't there yet.
  10. Yes, we have the beautiful Tribal Ghost as a testimony of that partnership. The music will not sound the same next time it will be played.
  11. Very sad news... Hard to believe - I didn't know he was ill. He did seem very generous and devoted to the music.
  12. Just visited the shop and was also quite thrilled. The owner played for me a 1990 recording of Paul Lovens and Mats Gustafsson which was recorded in his (the owner's) former bookshop in front of some 25 people and is now very rare.
  13. For those who read french, this tribute by Francis Marmande is worth reading: http://www.lemonde.fr/musiques/article/2015/06/30/mort-de-l-organiste-de-jazz-eddy-louiss_4664863_1654986.html
  14. David Murray Latin Big Band -- Now is Another Time, on Justin Time
  15. Just saw her in duo with Ben Goldberg last sunday and left with their new "Dialogue" CD. Others in Europe should definitely check on them because they will be playing a few cities.
  16. Instants chavirés in Montreuil is great of course. Last time Evan Parker came to Paris as you mention him, it was there. Le Triton, in Les Lilas, also. You can also check on the newly opened Carreau du temple.
