Completely agree. Lots of listening to the BS/SN box lately as well as to Dogon A.D., in anticipation of the new box set which doesn't seem to be very available in Europe yet.

I hope that they will get better. They have always been very friendly, enthusiastic and professional and brought about many musical surprises.

This forum is indeed a great resource. Approximately what year did the Blue Note Bulletin Board close? I think I must have joined Organissimo after having read through the Penguin guide (8th edition) and explored some other websites like the European Free Improvisation home and the early years of the Free jazz blog.

I've had the CD for a week or so, unfortunately CD player is just out of order right now and will have to find another way to listen to it. The above discussion is surprising considering all the talk that accompanies every Resonance release. King Ubu should have been editorial director for this release. Is this bootleg to be found anywhere?

Recent news on Keith Jarrett had me revisiting his Sun Bear series of live recordings in november 1976 in Japan. Beautifully edited boxset (I have it on LP). The box set is very wide ranging (and distinct from many other KJ projects). Just enjoyed Nagoya and Tokyo now.

Tending to always come back to Derek Bailey and to expand my collection, I was wondering if there were any favorites among the Honest Jons output of the last couple of years, especially among some of the Company sessions which weren't previously released on Incus CDs? The only one I have picked up from them was Aida. Dart Drug is great but already have it on CD, as for some others.

I have been moved by many American songs though I wouldn't define them as being just that. I might be off topic here, but middle and late Billie Holiday comes to mind first. I've read Szwed's Billie Holiday: The musician and the Myth and largely agree with its main thesis (which would apply also to many blues musicians), but still... This video in particular, with Mal Waldron, I saw first in one of Washington's Smithsonian art museums. Billie's expresssion and movements, the tempo, etc. :

Absolutely, the latest batch looks great. Derek Bailey, Barry Guy, Sam Rivers, Masabumi Kikuchi, Sabu Toyozumi, just to name a few that are included, wow!

Too many space (and probably financial) issues on my side to own it all, but I sure would like to hear the whole oeuvre at least once for some of the mentioned musicians. The CD and digital archive (Bandcamp) reissue stream of late has brought out a lot of fascinating music for some, for instance Cecil Taylor and Derek Bailey who come to mind.

That's really bad news. Full support to him and wishes for recovery.
