After winning this game the way they did and the ALCS, the Sox must be blessed this year. Fortune must be shining on them. GO SOX!

F'in Manny. I hope he doesn't cost them the game

You're in for a treat with Full House. Great cd.

Sound is very good, similar to the Japanese JVC XRCDs, much better than the JRVGs. Also in a quandry about the prices but I don't have a lot of what they've reissued, such as Bill Evans so I find it to be worth it nonetheless.

I think the only area that the Cardinals may have an edge is the offense but I don't think that's much of an edge because the guys you need to stay away from are Rolen and Pujols. If you can pitch around them, I think they can be pitched to. The Sox are much more evenly balanced in my opinion. Their starting pitching is not that impressive and the ERAs are high for the NL. Isn't Morris' ERA near 5. It's a nice staff but not a championship staff in my opinion. I'm not that impressed by their bullpen because in a big spot I don't think Isringhausen will do it for you. He's not a big time closer in my opinion. He blew the save in game 6 and the game in game 5. Edmonds is very good defensively but hey the Sox only made one error in the ALCS and Cabrera really impresses me. So I still like Sox in 6. One other factor. In the NLCS, the Cards did not win a road game and split 2 in the NLDS. The Sox have proven they can win on the road and since the Sox have home field, they will win.

SAVE THE NEW YORK TIMES LISTINGS!
Brad replied to blue lake's topic in Jazz In Print - Periodicals, Books, Newspapers, etc...
Just added my name to the list. -
Sox in 6. I wanted to say 5 but this one will probably go a little bit longer.

I buy mine at staples. They're about 50 cents for one. good quality imho.

Agree with brownie on this. It looks like the only ones that may have been released on the Black Lion cd, Strictly Confidential are Idaho and Deep Night. I'll be getting this. Just have to figure out where.

Dan and all fans in Red Sox Nation, Congratulations. I was elated for you and am excited today so I can only imagine how you all feel. This makes up at least for 1949 and 1978. 2003 next year As a Yankee hater, that the Yankee fans are in agony today is all the more delicious. I'm reveling in their agony today. That may sound cruel but as a Met fan who has to live with arrogant Yankee fans all year round in the NY metro area, this is very sweet indeed. I'm sure the airwaves are replete with fans ready to jump off the nearest bridge or building. I pity them not. For those who believe that beating the Yankees is enough, I would disagree and I don't think the players believe that. The Sox need to win the Series and I believe they will. GO SOX!

I don't think Arod did it intentionally. I just think it was instinct: do whatever you can to do to get on base. I really don't think he realized he did it. At any rate, he would have been called out because he ran outside the base line. On a game like this, I don't think you can predict what's going to happen. It's too crazy. Pedro won't pitch. He's a starter who just can't go back and forth. If it goes extra innings and long into the night, then, yes, maybe. All I know is that whoever loses is going to be one unhappy camper. The Red Sox can't afford to lose having come this far back and if the Yankees make history tonight, that would be unacceptable to them as well. All I know is that I'm enjoying hearing the Yankees fans on the radio about ready to jump off. To see them brought down to earth even if only for a day is enjoyable beyond compare. As the ad goes, "priceless."

Anybody pick this up yet? I did. Some of his earlier stuff I don't have and it's a pleasure to listen to. The liner notes by Bob Blumenthal are similar to the Grant Green box in presentation and are nice. Even if you have a lot of his cds like I do, getting a cross section in one place isn't a bad thing. Sound is good.

Swap my RVG for your old, McMaster CD's
Brad replied to Trader's topic in Offering and Looking For...
Different strokes I guess. I just prefer Rudy over McMaster. -

Swap my RVG for your old, McMaster CD's

Why? You must be in the distinct minority or a founding member of the McMaster fan club -
Wesbed, You MUST get this set. It's critical to your jazz well being. Seriously, you should get it. It's really worth it. I'm actually surprised you don't have it.

Dude, we can resume this on the political forum, this just ain't the place. Go have another brew

Found the Mosaic Nat King Cole box for $80!!!
Brad replied to tatifan's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
That is an awesome find, my friend. At its financial peak, this set was going northwards of $500. -
I think Mike might have been saying that tongue in cheek because he wrote part of the liner notes: biographies of the musicians who appeared in the set.

Don't miss out man. Some of the best music anywhere. I dig the sound.

Save your rantings for the political forum

This is a fabulous cd, especially the songs by Ernestine Anderson, particularly Social Call. The only person I've heard do this is Charlie Rouse on the Uptown release (no vocal) but this is a classic. I had planning to use it on my BFT but c'est la vie.

Ah Catesta, ever good for a laugh

54, but young enough to become a Master of the Groove. Awwwright!

Dan, I'm pullin' for you but the Red Sox have never beaten the Yanks in a big spot. God, I hope this is different. And that ad in the Boston papers about "Let's Go Yanks" reminds me that trite line about not wishing for certain things because you might get them. To me, this is a mental challenge for the franchise not physical because they definitely have the ability.
