That's a collection worth stashing some of the grocery money in a coffee can for. Six or seven weeks should do it.

Best of luck to you! Check in when you can. -
Not overly impressive. A Jimmy Heath "Nice People" record comes to mind.

Thoughts on your Mosaic Select purchases

I have not yet purchased a Mosaic Select Set but am seriously considering the Shank-Cooper. To Wesbed - What did you not like about the Duke Pearson? Just curious. -
What Are Your Favorite Baseball Books?

Just finished MoneyBall this past week .... fascinating stuff, and will provide the grist for a bunch of discussions/debates now that football is winding down. The best part is getting a chance to see how the guys the A's drafted actually end up doing, v. the one's they passed on. I need to go back and reread Summer of 49, and I think I have Boys of Summer around here somewhere as well. Heart of the Order by Boswell is also a fun one, as it is more a collection of his columns and so can be picked up and put down easily. This one was written in 88' or 89' so doesn't have any of his new stuff. -
NFL playoff games today

Thought the Pats played just the way they wanted to play, tough D, some running game, a few clutch throws, good coaching, and when necessary the burn-the-house-down blitz. Fun to watch in the elements, probably pretty boring if played in a dome though. Now, about Mike Martz and his decision to play for a tie? Play not to lose, you often get the loss. They only ran 4 plays in the last 2:30! They ran two plays. Two, after getting a first down at Carolina's 25 with a 1:30 left and a timeout. So much for the greatest show on turf. Now, just need the Chiefs and Eagles to win today and I would be 4-0. Which means THAT won't happen. -
buy a nice toy for the 2 year old and when you take him/her to the hospital to 'meet' the newborn, give him/her the gift and tell her that it is a present from the new baby. We've done that in the past and it's worked well.

Vikings were completely screwed over. Receiver was out of bounds without any help.

Probably the Stan T. and Brownie sets. But I could change my mind if I thought about it too much. -

Sahara, did someone say Sahara... Bush Administration probably would want to put an airbase there. -
Other than the song "Morgan the Pirate", the "Search for.." has never been one to float my boat (Taru stinks too!). Delightfulee would have been a better rvg choice in my opinion.

Mosaic Select Wish List
Sahara Blue Orchestra replied to mikeweil's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
There is the album on Verve simply titled "Tal" available currently only as a reissue from Japan. That Tal CD is the sort of thing I think I would like to track down. Have you seen it listed anywhere? Thanks. -
R.I.P. Larry It was a fine thing that so many parks did a moment of silence before their games yesterday. A small, but meaningful gesture.

My First (and last?) Sports Topic!

Probably depends on whether there is sunshine on the eastcoast, if there is, 5 may be about it! Those guys have been underwater all spring according to my buddies out there, so if it is 80 degrees, and not raining, nobody is going to be anywhere near a t.v. to watch hockey! And of course, we all know how weather sensitive CA fans are. Don't call them fair-weather for nothing. B) -
