  1. Wow! That is cool, and sounding that good in the mid-eighties. Huge Horace nut as well. Thanks for the review, I knew I was going to buy it, but it's reassuring to hear that it's really good! Repackaged as Early Circle? If so, great stuff 👍 My favorite Russell!
  2. Wow, great stuff, just listening to Caddy for Daddy.
  3. Thoughts! Terrific play list! Thoughts on the Alice Coltrane! I need to listen to this. Whatever happened, I hope you and your family are okay... Album jacket always made me uncomfortable, but my opinion, their best record
  4. Being Catholic too, I totally relate! "Catholic churches were dark & somber in general, so it makes sense that I'd think that about the organ playing." My parents being devout Catholics allowed me after my confirmation to attend church by myself (lols) because I didn't, but the the funny thing is when I actually did go, and they started that tithing BS mid-mass, with somebody playing that hoaky organ music (hoaky church, not hoaky rolling rink) they would hold that basket on that 20 foot-long arm (I swear that pole was as long as a football field!) rattling that basket in front of me for what seem like hours, I was like, can I help you? I'm like, this is my 7-11 money!
  5. Exactly what I need to do: I need to live with this set. Earlier in my listening life, I would've chucked this, but as I get older, I live with it, because as JSngry said, Ike is a baaadaaass man, and he is! So I'm hoping this set grows on me over more listens. PS I really like everything else, and I really love Ike's tone, I just have to get past that hoaky-ass sounding organ!
  6. Nice overview of hoaky soundy organs. Yep. Still sounds rolller rinky hoaky to me.
  7. Listining now, if it was just the Ike Quebec trio, minus the hoaky roller rink organ, highly recommended.
  8. Fantastic get together earlier tonight, and a brunch date set for tomorrow, but having trouble settling down; hopefully this amazing Silver set will do it:
  9. Beastie Boys' heavy sampling of Steig in "Sure Shot"
  10. Never seen this before, looks fascinating, esp. Karl Berger there. Is this, this?
  11. Hope it was a great show!
  12. For my wife:
  13. Love GMIII! Idris Muhammad. Argurably, the best boogaloo drummer of all time: Believe this is Leo Morris; correctly me quickly if I'm wrong.
  14. Picked up the mini-lp 2cd set of this one at Reckless Records in Chicago over the summer, great stuff👍 Never seen it on CD. Looks great!
  15. Didn't Charles Gayle don makeup too for his shows?
  16. Yeah, Neil is an essential part of Rush. So glad I got to see them with Neil. Irreplacable IMO. Led Zep reached the same conclusion when John Bonham died (though Jason has filled in for subsequent reunions).... Not going to pay somewhere nere a K for two tix to a Neil Peartless RUSH.
  17. 🤘Have it on CD. Heavy Metal Brötz! 🤘
