  1. Only posting the ones I've enjoyed. Keep in mind that I enjoy them for different reasons, from picture to picture. Some I enjoy for the dialogue, some for the acting "style"s, some for the look, some for the sociological elements of different periods of American life captured at times quite inadvertently, any number of reasons besides them being "great cinema". But I have been both entertained and engaged by all of them. If I put up the poster, that means I felt like the movie was worth the hour or so that it took to watch it.
  2. Added it from the Channel Store. Watched it jsut tonight, in fact:
  3. Or, in a different - yet not implausible - world, those artists would have transitioned over to Blue Note.
  4. I don't care. If they make good records, I'll listen to them. If they don't I won't. It's their money and it's my time.

  6. it's got a good beat and even I can dance to it!
  7. On a Roku PD channel called ON Classic Movies:https://www.rokuguide.com/channels/on-classic-movies Unlike almost every other streaming PD material Roku channel, this one has no ads at all. Just finished:
  8. No, I mean fuquitousness...say it slowly.
  9. People buy how they feel, that's the hard/sad (often) truth. Lot of fuquitousness in the world today.
  10. Of course Gibson was never acquired by Fender, cranial flatulence. I was actually transposing Fender being bought by CBS. Epiphone, though, long story, but I had a pretty convincing experience with how cheap Epiphones are these days.
  11. Yeah, I'm sympathetic to all of that, but still, your husband's still almost certainly guilty, so save it for somebody who's not, and stop cheapening the argument.
  12. Him and Clyde...
  13. No idea, but maybe not?
  14. Haven't Gibson's consumer guitars kinda gotten progressively POS-y going back to their being acquired by Fender? I know the Epiphones, once a proud name, are not even top-shelf student guitars. Personally, I don't care what the instruments are. GIGO, always, sequencers or Strats,
  15. Ralph Steadman cover, and an intriguingly post-Mingus band at the core. I've had From Ragtime to No Time for a long time, and it's pretty good, but I'm thinking this one might be a little different in some crucial ways. We'll see!
  16. And a second pair of eyes (or in a musician's case, ears) is never unwelcomed, as long as it's somebody you can trust that way.
  17. I first heard of him in the last years of Ellington, a "protégé" who seemed to legit know everything about Ellington. I now see that he made a record or two with Ellingtonians, I might like to hear those. RIP, and "Soda Fountain Rag".
