  1. I think it is Peg, today's version.
  2. And when you smile for the camera...
  3. Dirty Dingus Magee Jiggs and Maggie Miggy Cabrera
  4. Secretary Of Agriculture Secretariat Secret Lover
  5. Never underestimate the money to be made from tourist attractions.
  6. Geez, I have that record. Thanks for the reminder!
  7. Is a YouTube video ok? No links to product involved. I don't hear Oxley making much difference one way or the other, to be honest, although Evans sounds a little less rushed than usual.
  8. But porn & preachers ARE reality!
  9. What's the over/under until it's mostly all porn & preachers?
  10. Louisiana has the worst roads in America. Prepare to get an alignment job after leaving. Not kidding about this. OTOH, Louisiana has some of the craziest-ass drivers anywhere in America. Not kidding about this either. Prepare to be entertained!
  11. Go through West Monroe and say "hi" to the Duck Dynasty crew. Si, in particular. He's my favorite! I'd avoid the Silver Dollar Pawn in Alexandria, though. Other than Jimmy, the rest of that crew looks pretty...unfinished. But them duck guys, yeah. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyoBB6a7NxE
  12. I know you've heard a lot of music by a lot of different people and wouldn't say anything like this casually, so I ask this strictly out of genuine curiosity - what other musicians would you have in mind, and what more/else could this music be at this point in time?
  13. Wife, party, sofa construction, new years eve gig, vibes plaer, stolen present, 45s, 6 eye Jo Stafford, 45s on top of a box, alcohol broken records...what am I missing? I meant it as a joke, btw. It's good to mingle with people, generally. Same thing with wifes. But you do run the risk of shit happening to your records when you do!
  14. Which one ruins your records less? Just sayin'...
  15. Seems like you mingle with people a lot. Are you sure that's what you want out of life?
  16. I never hooked into the Ronnie Foster stuff (not even Two Headed Freep), but some other people whose tastes I respect have. So that tells you...nothing, I suppose.
  17. Hmmm....sounds interesting...a passionate Bird imitator who seems to have played mostly R&B date. Thanks for that info!
  18. Mr. Jones is one helluva good album, and I'm not really the biggest fan of the whole Elvin/Liebman/Grossman thing. They could ramble a bit too much for my taste. But that's a very focused album with a very balanced presentation.
  19. Ok, what do we know about this Vincent Bair-Bey guy on alto? That's a totally new name to me.
  20. She knows her sports and speaks confidently about them. Some guys get turned off by that knowledge/confidence, but not me. I get turned off by the women (or male, for that matter) sports reporters who don't know their sports past a basic level. Too much faking going on, like all you have to do is show some energy and throw some stats and jargon around and then you know something. Hell, come to think of it, that's business in gerneal these days. BOO! Now, when you go bringing Florida college sports fan rivalries into it, that's a whole 'nother world for me right there, a world which I will not pretend to understand even a little!
  21. Yeah, that one is just....bland. Totally bland. Not bad, just bland, which may or may not be a worser offense, depending on who's writing the ticket, and why.
  22. Suzy Kolber had this very quiet group of guys who thought she was an uber-hottie. My son and some of his friends were among them. They wouldn't cop to it, because, you know, she's kinda got that "jock" look to her, which was supposed to not be hot. But she showed up in some video game (in the background, on a poster, iirc), and I made a "Suzy Kolber, eh? Nice!" comment and the truth began to come out. I think she's still an attractive woman. Beauty doesn't necessarily fade with age, it just evolves. Same thing with Ms. Storm.
  23. It is pretty "commercial" and stuff, but done pretty well, so I don't know if "pretty awful" is necessarily accurate...I mean, as far as "that kind of record" goes, it's actually pretty good. Bobby Hutcherson sounds good no matter what, in my experience. Now, if you don't like "that kind of record", then this won't even begin to change your mind. But compared to, say, some of those World Pacific pop-jazz sides by Joe Pass, Bud Shank, Chet Baker, et al. Linger Lane is a freakin' treat!
  24. Hannah Storm or Suzy Kolber = Ginger or Mary Ann
