I love those location recordings from the dances where the balances are...imperfect. You can hear inside the sections, and with a band like this that could never be defended on to play the same thing exactly the same way two nights in a row, it can be a real treat! -

Eric Gale actually began life as a late 1960s NYC rock/pop session guitarist! He's on some of Van Morrison's Bang records, among other things. And by the earlyish 1970s, he was all over the Kudu records output. A very distinctive voice, imo. Hilarious? How so?
