  1. I guess it might be if you had seen the movie?
  2. Still, I would not bet on any sporting event, especially a professional one.
  3. Calming Heat - NECK WRAP!!!
  4. Well, then, we're left (for the time being) of some 20th Century combination of magical-thinking, gut instinct, football "sense" and 21st Century telecommunications where you can make you best-informed guess in the booth and beam it right into the qb's helmet. Then, if you get it right, what a bold/smart call, and if you don't, what a dumbass call! Really, you play the odds as you understand them, but any single outcome that is not 100% guaranteed is essentially a a random one. Odds are cumulative, not specific. Is it any wonder the Raiders are in Las Vegas and the Cowboys have an Official Casino? It's like Wall Street, only with sports. What could possibly go wrong there? If only the dumbass baseball players would figure out how to beat shifts...
  5. NP - Messengers, Olympia 1963. They are showing something called Strata-East All Stars as in the rotation this month.
  6. Winstar is The Official Casino Of The Dallas Cowboys! Btw, is there a football equivalent of Sabermetrics?
  7. When CD first hit, I was not a fan. So as LPs withered away, I thought I was going to do cassettes instead. And that worked REALLY well until, uh-oh tape hiss, loss of highs, basic shit like that. I was not going to clean my tape heads evr hour on the hour, if you know what I mean, so I reluctantly accepted CD. And then, lo and behold, in a few years they started figuring out how to do it, this digital thing, no more disembodied pianos and tinny everything. All of the early pluses still remained, and all of the old disadvantages fixed. I get the appeal for certain niche markets, how music is supposed to sound imperfect and not last forever (if at all). But for everything else...
  8. It's only the RVGs that have it, but they're well-worth seeking out,

  10. same, more or less.
  11. Right, Excel is not really a database. But my point is more to not being dependent on a 3rd party service to store your data for you. As a backup, yeah. But just giving it to them....this is what happens. Mike Weil talks about his database that he uses for his discographies. imo that's the type of thing to use to keep your data under your roof and not in somebody's cloud.
  12. Figuring out Excel is easier than drilling for oil. And you don have to change clothes.

  14. The only way to really do this is to make your own file on your own database, save, and then back it up on a cloud drive. Anything else and you will be, as you are discovering, at the mercy of a 3rd party, which is really convenient, until its not. I feel your pain, but with data, you can step up to the table and roll the dice until you lose, or keep your cash in your pocket. And even then...
  15. That's not funny, that's enabling!
  16. Dick Cavett Show, it says.
  17. Starting to listen to this, and it's better than I expected. But also... it's very easy to follow, a lot of boxes being checked. But that's where the big money gigs lay, can't fault them for checking those boxes. The only real drag for me is the rhythm. Might as well be 1979.
  18. Some do, most don't. This is America. We're all about gut instinct and all that. Any idea what the betting lines were on any of this?
  19. Past performance/etc might lead one to believe in the "he's done it before, he can do it again" dynamic. And he was moving the ball well on that first OT drive. Until he wasn't/ So, you either "believe" in the guy or you don't. And "belief" is a really imperfect basis on which to make a critical decision. He's either a miracle man or else he's not. Believe the hype, after all, this is sports, right? Nobody questions a bad decision that succeeds, that's the American way.
  20. This is before then, but it looks interesting: https://www.allmusic.com/album/between-the-lines-mw0000575249 If this is accurate....he made a Gospel record in 1973: https://www.discogs.com/release/11366003-Professor-Benny-Cummings-And-The-Kings-Temple-Choir-COGIC-Gods-Music-Is-My-Life On the Thoughts Of... record, he's got a tune called "PJ"...."Praise Jesus"? Wouldn't be the first guy I know to go back to church music...with the right gig, it pays a helluva lot better than jazz...
  21. Ok, go for the TD, risk a turnover. Shit happens. The FG was the "safe" choice. Maybe not the best one in retrospect, but who makes meaningful decisions in retrospect? The only thing that matters is the final score and how it got there. It got there because Mahomes got picked in OT and the Bengals then capitalized. End of stpory, really. Bad thinking goes rewarded when it doesn't produce bad results, and good thinking gets no credit when it produces bad results. This is America, after all. The NFL no less!
