  1. I used to go back to this one on occasion, but god, it's been maybe 5-10 years since the last time.
  2. Ok, Boomer. Yeah, and after having been given multiple opportunities to clarify, hell, ASKING for a clarification, that's the sticking point for me. No apology for the slip, no admission of error, sorry, not acceptable. Too much social media misinformation as it is. Intentional or not, can't have it here.
  3. Hate to hear this...RIP
  4. Casals was pretty good, too!
  5. Did Joe Gardner's people get paid for the use of his name?
  6. What is it, exactly that you think you're letting people "know about"? I edited the title of this thread because facts matter. So unless you have proof that Craig Mohrer and Discogs are the same thing, you are spreading false information through social media. Ain't gonna happen here.
  7. Jon Batiste is plugged in to a different career network than "jazz pianist"... I've yet to be impressed by anything except competency, but I did find it interesting that the "zone" playing sounded more like Alice Coltrane than anything else. But again, that's competency, not innovation. Then again, competency is nothing to be sneezed at, especially as our digital paradigm expands and evolves. So maybe, to use the lingo of the story at hand, my spark is dwindling. But that's ok, the future belongs to the present, and the present belongs to the past. It all flows.
  8. Nothing reeks of stale whoredom like Herb Alpert in a stairwell!!!
  9. The cellist? Good test. Good energy.
  10. Sounds like that guy has his hands full!
  11. Does Moerer also run eBay and Amazon?
  12. Enjoyed it very much. btw, wathch the final credits (if you have that much time), Roy Haynes is playing drums in the band!
  13. Why do you think that Craig Moer "runs" Discogs? That weblink? Everybody who sells on Discogs has one of those. https://www.discogs.com/about
  14. McDonald's is now offering apple fritters, and they are not bad. But still, Bunkie's is just around the corner, not at all a coporate food trough, and they got rent to pay. Even if it is modern-day under-leased strip mall rent, it's still rent and it has to be paid. Those fuckers do not care. So, yeah, Bunkie, you and your smile and warm greeting still got me. No need to change after 20+ years, no need at all. Still if you're traveling out on the interstate.... When we were coming into the office, people would bring in donuts from their favorite suburban/exurban/justoutoftown,period (the length of commuting that people will do when there's a decent(enough) paycheck involved is as inspiring as it is depressing) donuteers, and i tell you - in this metroplexian googolith, individual/MomPop donuteering is alive and well. The only time we would get KK was when a local exec came in/down for facetime, and the only time we saw Dunkin was when the prickhead buffunatos from California popped in to show us how much they "appreciated" us. As usual, they expected us to be thankful for their predictapeatbly transparent acts of cluelessness. In their defense, however, why would they be any different with donuts than they are about everything else?
  15. Cesar Romero AND Joe Flynn...and a bunch of other faces you've seen on countless TV shows and movies over the years without ever needing to know their names...people who seemed to always have a gig. As a movie, eh, it goes without saying. But the entertainment value of simply seeing these people just to be seeing them should not be underestimated, at least on my TV. OLAN SOULE!!!!
  16. Them robots ain't got no ass. Don't worry about it until them robots get some ass.
  17. Fortunately, I don't have to go into all that...down the street and round the corner, literally 5 minutes or less of a drive we got this unassuming place. It sure seems that Bunkie runs the place by herself, god bless her. Maybe she has help in the wee hours, but if so, they're outta there by the time the shop opens. The apple fritters take precedence over everything else, except when they're out (and if you dally, they will be), in which case, oh well, the donuts are then the best. ESPECIALLY the cake donuts! But a maple glazed will do just fine, if need be. But those apple fritters...oh my!
  18. At its best, a Jerry Lewis movie with dogs. Otherwise....not.
  19. Shipley's is to donuts what Brookshire's is to grocery stores!
