I noticed that Nemo comes with a bonus disc. Is it worthwhile?

I am really looking forward to Matrix: Revolutions when it opens this Wednesday. I've seen Matrix, Matrix: Reloaded and The Animatrix. This final installment in the series is opening on 4 screens here. They have already sold out the advance tickets for the first screening on all 4 screens. Has anyone else been following this series?

One Sunday afternoon last summer I had to babysit two little tikes so I decided to take them to see Nemo. I was very surprised to discover that I really did enjoy the movie. Great fun for kids and kids-at-heart.

Happy Birthday Catesta, This year I plan to give you any TOCJ or JRVG of your choice as a show of my best wishes on this special day. However, you must contact me at my private email address in the next five minutes to receive your present. grey

Bluerein, The PM failed twice so I'll place the response here. I have a copy of Ronnie Foster's Chesire Cat which was released in Japan on CD as TOCJ 6292. Unless you are a completist, I would not expend much energy looking for it. It is not impressive. It is that very late Blue Note period (1975) which includes vocals and schmaltz.

The Three Sounds Feelin' Good is being released as a JRVG next Spring.

When I turned my computer on this morning I received 13 PM notifications from yesterday---18 hours after the PMs were sent. As well, I received 2 emails which were sent via the Organissimo Board and also received them 18 hours later. All of the inquiries pertained to 2 Box Sets that I had posted yesterday around noon; most of the respondents never had a chance. The Box Sets were gone within an hour and 18 hours before I ever received their inquiries. The Board's PM notification and Email functions are still a very unreliable means for conveying messages in a timely manner.

As well, when I wrote a reply for a thread which took about 30 seconds and then hit the send button, I received a screen which said 'This page has expired'. That's a new one! (BTW, my reply disappeared into cyberspace).
-
I received 5 PMs this afternoon. I NEVER received any email notifications.
-
I give up. What's the joke? All I get is a pop-up that's asking for a password!
-
Nor does it explain why I received a blank screen after logging on this morning around 9 AM here on the East Coast.
-
I logged on this morning around 9 (EDT) and got nothing, nil, zero --- an absolutely blank screen --- not even a message of any kind.
-
I got that screen 3x today.

b3er, This morning I received quite a number of PMs. In 8 cases when I replied and hit the Send Reply button I received a message "This page cannot be displayed". Further, there was no message in my Sent Box. In 18 other cases the system worked fine. Fortunately in a number of the cases I had the person's email address and replied independent of this Board. Unfortunately in 4 cases I had never corresponded with the person before and have no knowledge if they ever received a reply from me or not. The PM system is not reliable.

David Ayers, Toshiba-EMI reissued 20 JRVG titles between TOCJ 9001 and TOCJ 9029 last June. There are plans to reissue titles after TOCJ 9100 but there are no firm dates. CS 500, Goin' West is not a JRVG reissue but part of the current 100 new JRVG titles being released between June 2003 and March 2004. This does become complicated.
-
Toshiba-EMI had scheduled the reissue of 48 JRVG titles from TOCJ 9014 (Bass On Top) to TOCJ 9097 (Bossa Nova Bacchanal) between September 26 and November 27. All of the titles were released simultaneously on September 26. No reason was given for the change in release dates or why all of the titles were released together.

The PM system is not yet functioning properly. I still get mail error message. Can I assume that the PMs are still going through nevertheless?

Jacknife "What do you replace the inner sleeve with?" I replace them with a cloth-like sleeve similiar to those that come with the VICJ mini-LP CDs. They are available from www.SoundSourceCDs.com Alfred "I'm looking for The Gigalo and Blues In Trinity" Sorry, I never got your Email but I did sell a copy of The Gigalo last June and a copy of Blues In Trinity last week on this Board. Keep watching both this Board and AAJ as I will be posting more JRVGs in the future when I get a chance to sort out the duplicates. Son-of-a-Weizen "I also have several loaded firearms at the ready in order to repel any unwanted JRVG-prowling Organissimohumanoids --- do you??? Considering the nature of the clientele that posts on the political forum I 've found that a huge flashing picture of Donald Rumsfeld outside is sufficient to scare the hell out of them.

Wanted: Big John Patton
grey replied to connoisseur series500's topic in Offering and Looking For...
Technically not true. There were a number of test pressings done for prospective TOCJs but for some reason they were never issued. 'That Certain Feeling' appears to be one of them. I had a test copy of an unissued TOCJ Three Sounds 'Vibrations' CD which I sold for a small fortune. -
Weizen, It's Saturday Morning and I have a bit of time so let's get specific. When I say I have all the JRVGs this is what I mean: First Series, July 1998-March 1999, TOCJ 9001-9100, Yellow /Blue OBI, 100 Titles. Second Series, July 1999-March 2000, TOCJ 9101-9200. Pink/Blue OBI, 100 Titles. Third Series, July 2000-November 2000. TOCJ 9201-9251, Blue/Black OBI, 51 Titles. Contest/Limited Retail, November 2000?, BCD 0053-0054, No OBI, 2 Titles. Special Edition, December 2000, TOCJ 9252-9257, Copper/Black OBI, 6 Titles. Complete Series, June 2001, TOCJ 66111-66130, Blue/Cream/Red OBI, 10 Titles. Fourth Series, January 2003, TOCJ 9361-9371, Blue/White/Black OBI, 11 Titles. Fifth Series, June 2003-August 2003, TOCJ 9501-9530, Blue/White/Turquoise OBI, 30 Titles. (Additional 70 Titles To Be Released, September 2003- March 2004) There is also a second and third pressing of some titles from the first series, both with readily identifiable different colored OBIs. I will not include these in the total. I also have a Contest/Limited Retail Miles Davis from the First Series which has no code number or OBI. For the sake of completeness I also have The RVG Album (TOCJ 66060) and The Blue Note Years TOCJ 66031-66050 but these latter are only compilation CDs. So the grand total comes to 333 different titles.

I added a new feature to my car this summer which I would recommend if your vehicle is ON STAR equipped. On Star now provides a cell phone service which has no long distance or roaming charges and if these features are important to you it is much cheaper than regular cell phone service. I have also found that the signal is much stronger than a regular cell phone in remoter and mountainous areas. Of course, the feature is only worthwhile if you use the phone a lot in the car which I do. FYI.

I have all of them -- close to 300. As I have written about elsewhere I had 2 or 3 copies of the first 200 releases which I got at very little cost. I sold many of the duplicates to members on the old BNBB. I love the Mini-LP packaging although I change the inner sleeve and add a self-sealing outer sleeve. Generally, I prefer the sound of the JRVGs/RVGs to the TOCJs but not always. Sometimes the too wide stereo on the TOCJs sounds artificial. Actually, both series are recommended and I wouldn't want to part with either one. As well, often the JRVG and RVG of the same title (ie: Green Street) are different. The JRVG, TOCJ or RVG are always preferable to the earlier domestic releases.

I saw the first episode in this series last Monday on PBS Detroit (WTVS) and it was very interesting. It was the first time I ever saw many of the artists which previously I had only heard. If the rest of the series is as interesting as this first episode I would certainly recommend it if you are interested in the 'blues'.

I was quite active yesterday on this Board. I received numerous PMs. On some occasions I received a pop-up that I had a message from person x but when I checked the box there was no message. On another occasion there was no notification of a message but there was a new message in the box. The New Messages beside My Controls at the top of the screen was usually accurate but not on 2 occasions. When I replied to PMs, on no occasion did the sent box show that I had sent anything so I do not know if everyone received the replies that I mailed. I never received an Email notification of a PM. Until we hear that the system is fixed assume that it is hit and miss and do not wholly rely on the PM system. Addendum: After completing this message and clicking the add reply button to add this entry to this thread I received the "Mail Error" message even though the entry went through.

We saw the movie 'Standing In The Shadows Of Motown' on Directv PPV last Sunday. It is the story of the Funk Brothers who were the session band for all the Motown groups from the 60s and 70s. They played on more number 1 hits than the Beatles, Stones and Elvis combined. The movie is excellent and many of the members are still alive, although many, like the troubled but brilliant bassist James Jamerson, are gone now. They do many of the classic songs such as 'Heat Wave' and 'What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted' in concert with contemporary singers such as Chaka Khan. The interviews are insightful and recreate a long gone era. The references to how Jazz influenced the Motown Sound is very interesting. The movie was in limited release last winter. The members of this Board would really enjoy this movie.
