let me tell you about bennie maupin: dont be fooled my his headhunters stuff and his ECM meanderings: when benny was playing with like, lee morgan and horace silver before that, (and i guess you guys are saying chick corea, where that places between the former two, i dunno) B.M> is like joe henderson "squared": thats like the best i can do right now to describe it, Benny Maupin should of been on dozens of more blue notes

wait wait wait wait r u serious, benny goes crazy on the "IS" cd? well what is the single lp issue called w/ benny-- was it even issue as a standalone? beacuse the less chick corea i need to buy, the better-- but i will even comprimise my most scared jazz morals to buy a chick corea cd if maupin is really as killin as u say he is on this whats so different about him on it anyways?

saw this one today, aqua dulce, it had rhodes and a cover of gimme shelter, but it was the old style fantasy logo (albeit a white promo) so i didnt quite know exactly where to date it....

yes birth of the new cool you havent mentioned early sonny criss bebop sides yet. now some people will tell on early sonny criss solos his timing is all fucked up and he sounds like a 2nd rate charlie: this is far from reality--- for early sonny criss you may buy a PROPER (UK) single cd issue called YOUNG CRISS, i believe- it includes a very very hard to find early quartet date w/ Hampton Hawes Trio, and the rest of the cd is the more well known sonny criss/bird/chet date from inglewood

so the times never gets jazz stories right? because i always read the arts section and their articles on other types of arts are sometimes really amazing

when i become middle aged like you guys im going to listen to nothing but Keith Jarrett and buy a red '87 Porche 911 and troll around playgrounds hitting on 7-year old asian boys

Thats why at the 78 Hartford show they mixed the biro extra loud. also according to rick, this is the tightest show the band ever played, and i have it and agree w/ him

u can listen to it with me if u want, its a real mind bender- its kind of like what cecil taylor would be like if cecil taylor was good, and didn't completely suck and wasn't one of the top 5 worst jazz artists of all time

yes, i saw former ECM recording artist Bill Frissell

saw BF + cong Vu and a violinist last weekend: completely free from style noise improv-- BF had this little musical box crank toy thing that he would play on his guitar pickup and loop it into an effect box. it was definetly the craziest bill frissell concert ive seen, and ive seen some pretty crazy ones. every time i see him its w/ different bands and confirguations of instruments

DONT LISTEN TO THEM: THEY ARE TOTALLY AWESOME LIVE AND ITS 10 BILLION TIMES BETTER THAN THE STUDIO DATES WHICH PRODUCED 3 MIN LONG 78s. LIVE THEY PLAYED CHORUS AFTER CHOURS AND THE SOUND QUALITY IS **NOT** BAD AT ALL, IVE HEARD SOME SERIOUSLY SHITTY ASS LIVE TAPES AND THESE ARE RESOUNDLY DONT ONE OF THEM.
