  4. TOTO: the complete "fareignhight" sessions: featuring Miles Davis, David Sandborn, and Michael McDonald (no joke- bought this album on tape for $.10 last night!!!)
  5. r u completely and utterly nutz- u have to get the g.w.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. YOU KNOW WHAT THE BEST OF ALL WOULD BE: IF YOU COULD COMBINE THE RUDY VAN GELDER "BLUE NOTE SOUND", BUT AUGMENT IT WITH THE PHIL COLLINS NOISE-GATED DRUM SOUND, THAT WOULD BE THE BEST
  7. LEEWAY IS ABSOUTELY RIGHT- THEY ARE PRICES AROUND 10 BUCKS, 10.99, 11.99, some of the more obscure ones ive seen for 14.99- in addition to the ones mentioned ive seen a lot of self titled "HANK" and "HANK MOBLEY" albums, Charismas another that keeps poppin up- now i have to admit ive been tempted to start buyin these but i dunno- i would really like a copy of chrasma on vinyl, but hell- he is right about how they are exact copies more or less w/ no distrib. info- none of the record stores here even wanna tell u more info cause they want u to buy theirs....
  8. today at the record store i was looking real hard for that cal massey blues 2 coltrane cd, while i was looking i accidently touched a wynton marsalis cd-- am i going to be okay?

  16. if boris was such a completest recording all this stuff why didnt he write in more specific info on his photocopied covers? was he worried that more information = not good for his record bussiness?
  17. i should note too the vinyl is very thick, flawless vinyl and i didnt even need to clean it to play it
  18. what about this DIZ BIG BAND date w/ bird when they do manteca n stuff- theres a cd of that at this store and its only 8.99 big ones but the sound quality is abysmal- even for my tastes, and i usualy dont mind crappy recordings. 1/2 the disc is that, then the other part is like bird quinetet w/ miles in detriot and chicago
  19. i want clifford jordan: soul fountain!!!!!!!!!
  20. thanks again guys. wow bootlegs wouldnt be a suprise if i had that handy book!
  21. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT. JOLLY GOOD SHOW. 1970s huh? i am suprised they were pressed that late. yes there is a coltrane side a/amonons side b disc on session i saw (the only one at the store marked 15, not 5) - and the ammmons is from a early 70s tv b'cast. you did such a good job id hate to press the topic into the ground, but the last thing you noted-- i was thinking, are there any other key points about how boris rose operated and his biography i should be aware of. ALL THE RECORDS I HAVE OF HIS ARE VERY SPECIAL TO ME. although i dont have the print discogs like you do w/ the bird espically, ive been good about not really duplicating-- the ones i have bought are amazing ones i have not seen on cd, even if that are on cd- eg. bird w/ the herd.....
  22. sorry, we all here only stalk dead jazz musicans
  23. did he press these as late as the 60s or are they all from the 50s? how long did his ad run in downbeat? did he pay someone to press them for him?
