saw one of them "chronological" cds today: noticed some really good sidemen on it! is this bebop? west coast or east coast? some tracks seemed to be small group, some orchestra. what instrument does babs do? who is babs? etc?

Chewy-Chew-Chew reporting here: i havent revisited the lps in a long time but i remember getting into them a real long time ago. yes, they were very passe already even by 1978 and it is pretty astonishing they are still going at it. However I am very offended by your Genesis comment- I for one am one of those guys who feels Invisible Touch is the pinnacle of the 80s. Moody Blues 80s albums are ok but they are not as important to the decade in the same way the Genesis lps are/were.

chewy-chew-chew/Weather Report Fan here: i have some w.r. dvds: one from '76: that one has alex acuna and manolo. also have musikladen '78, no extra percussion, just peter erkskine, the harriest jazz musician of all time. wait, just u wait till he takes his shirt off 1/2 way through the video. his back is so hairy he could be a gorilla for halloween and all he would need is the mask

HOLY SHIT. HOLY SHIT. BOZ IZ DEAD. THAT IS OUT OF CONTROL. NO MORE BAD COMPANY REUNION EVER AGAIN. OH GOD. I REMEMBER IT LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY, AUGUST 1999- WAS SNEAKING INTO A BAD COMPANY CONCERT, VIA THE BACKSTAGE AREA, AND I REMEMBER RIGHT AT THE BACKSTAGE RAMP-THING RIGHT BEFORE I EVEN SNUCK IN, THERE WAS BOZ BY THE BUS TUNING HIS BASS. THERE WAS A SECURITY GUY RIGHT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF HIM, SO I WAS THINKING I HAD TWO OPTIONS: I COULD BE WHAT THE HELLS UP TO BOZ OR JUST KEEP WALKING AND SNEAK INTO CONCERT. AND I REALLY WANTED TO SAY WAHT THE HELL BUT I JUST KEPT GOING. HE WAS WEARING NEON BRIGHT FUNNY PANTS. THEN THE 2nd PERSON I SAW BACK THERE IS DAVID LEE ROTH, THE SUPPORT ACT. THEN I WENT INTO THE MAIN SEATING AREA AND SAW THE SHOW AND BAD COMPANY ROCKED THE HOUSE DOWN. ALL 4 ORIGINAL MEMBERS: MICK RALPHS, SIMON KIRKE ON DRUMS, PAUL RODGERS, AND BOZ. BOZ WAS ALSO IN THE KING CRIMSON ALTHOUGH THE LP HE ON, FOR YRS IVE READ BAD REVIEWS OF IT, THEN WHEN I LISTENED TO IT FOR THE 1st TIME LAST WEEK, I ACTUALLY ARGREED SOMEWHAT. I DIDNT THINK IT WOULD BE THAT BAD CAUSE I ALSO HEARD WEAK REVIEWS OF IN THE WAKE OF POSIDEON BUT I **LOVE** THAT ONE. BUT YEAH.

UNKNOWN PERSONEL?!??!? Hmmmph Well listen when i played i t in the store i did instanly notice all the songs were pretty much of the same variety- they all are uptempo gosepel songs, but i knew it was special so i got it and at home i played it again and i am happy w/ the purchace. it is interesting to hear gospel, but with sax solos and trumpet etc. one of the songs on side 1 is even like a jazz-rock gospel tune w/ some harmonica and elec. guitar-- that one is very interesting -
were the Fletcher Henderson arrgenments recorded by Fletecher or were they just in the live book? is there a documented Flether/Sun recording, Ra actaully playing the piano on i t notwithstanding, i mean the arrangement, etc...
