I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF WATCHING THIS MOVIE FILMED BY WARNE'S DAD RIGHT NOW, well the reason for this post is because THE WAY WARNE'S DAD PHOTOGRAPHED MOVIE IS JUST AS OUT OF CONTROL AS A WARNE TENOR SAX SOLO. THE WHOLE MOVIE IS IN BLACK AND WHITE, EXCEPT THERES THIS ONE TECHNICOLOR SEQUENCE IN PERFECT COLOR, NOT THAT TYPICAL LATE 30's TECHNICOLOR GARBAGE. ANYWAYS THE SHOT, THE STAGE IS IN COLOR W/ ALL THE HOT CHICKS DOING THE FASHION SHOW, BUT THE REST OF THE SHOT IS BLACK IN WHITE, WITH JUST THE LITTLE COLOR STAGE, THEN THEY PAN IN. the movie is called 'the women' and joan crawford is in it, who scares the shit out of me. she is hot but scary-hot. like elvira or something. it also has joan fontaine who is more normal-hot. anyways the point of thread is: warne's dad filmed this movie just as crazy as warne plays the saxophone. see what im sayin'?

i used to, but now i dont buy into the whole "pre jimmy organ" dealie 1 bit. so jimmy screwed w/ the drawbars and started playing faster, so what. he could never be as good as shirley scott was. now SHE is the quinetessential bop organist. she might not have balls, but her playing sure does. when she pulls all the stops out and gets all 'freaky freaky' with eddie lockjaw, nothing can top it (big john notwithstanding). Jimmy's earliest blue notes copy the Shirely style, then after his classic period he compeletly sold out and started recording orchestra albums and really bad vocal/blues albums. he retured to greatness in the 70s with "root down" a classic funk album, then made disco albums which i bet are pretty cool, although i sold the one i owned years ago (wish i hadnt). it wasnt even on a hammond. then in the 90s and 00's jimmy lost his mind and went compeletly nuts. I swear to god i think i remember one time he pulled his pants down on stage. i am not positive on that but it is a distinct possibiliy, ill have to re-check up on that w/ people i went to the show with. but nonetheless he compeletly lost his mind. why he still toured i dunno, must of been for the money- thats too bad -
a tribe called quest is doin their reunion tour- no new album, but they rocked the house. only stadium gig on tour . but yo they sampled the bass line from that one song, on lee organ live at thelight house. you know, bom bom ba. bima ba- bompa boma boama. u know that one song. i am still pissed i cant see the asia reunoin but thius was a good reunoin too

Question: how was it that a Wisconsin chair co. had the forsight to find blues musicians from the rural south. did someone at the factory like the blues, or was it all just random-- because i know paramount recorded other stuff too- i have a black label paramont tacked onto my wall, and its not rural blues- its "when the red red robbin goes bob bob bobbin' along". wisconsin is so far away from the south i just dont get it
