  7. just got a white label promo of this-- my favorite of candidos abc-paramount releases....the others can get a lil tacky in song selection or arrangements-*- this one is the one w/ candidos working band, lots of soloing, st. thomas and a night in tunisia are played.... *i blame abc-paramount

  9. george braith deserves a honor for his continuing advancement of jazz. usu i say w/ these things who cares like r&r hall of fame- but in jazz's case theres a 25k prize along w/ the award. so i say give it to george braith for sure one year soon

  16. Zappa has said this song absolutely knocked him out- he ranked it as one of the most abstract lyrics he ever heard in all of doo wop music that turned a big influence on his style- the B side to Tear Drops: "girl around the corner"--- i still need this on 78-- listen to the lyric......

  20. re: vee jay id like to hip you gys to some info-- the best Vee Jay transfers you will find IMO are the cds made for a really small fly by night firm at the dawn of US cd market: "Suite Beat Records" its subjective but at least for 1st bassman the difference is night and day. very good drum sound on "go" as well- i dont listen to the two lee ones as much but for the paul chambers these by far are my definitive versions -young lions -heres lee morgan -1st bassman -Go
