check this out you guys: this is a remix of the 2nd single from her one album (1989, epic). george braith's daughter: Flame! -
Idle Moments, always makes the top 20 best blue notes of all time-lists, with its slow long drawn out jam........ but Am I Blue gets the shaft, when its very similar in presentation. like idle moments, am i blue also features an epic long ballad..... some albums are freaking cannonized, and others are detested. i definetly prefer Am I Blue, although i like both. idle moments is great with duke p and bobby....but Am I Blue has BJP!!!!

Questions for 78 Collectors
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez replied to Mark Stryker's topic in Discography
honest to god most ppl at used lp stores will give you 5c. a piece for them regardless of title and sell them at .50. the Atomics are definetly the choice ones of the bunch....very impressive. are the bluebirds those early white label ones or those later blue labels? its rare my local stores get 78 collections cause they usu do not even buy or process them. the one time they did it was all r&b/blues/rock stuff, and even then the going rate was $1/ea. keep them dawg! -
k i just have it as mp3's that i got years ago- it can be put in the ipod and u can easily skip between tracks etc. commonly available is the cd set. i am interested in picking up the vinyl eventually, but i have some questions-- ive never seen mosaic vinyl before, how is the quality? is it very thin? ****is there really any difference in tracking down the mosaic vinyl vs cd version, they prob used DAT transfers of the wires, acetates, discs- as the source material for both cd and lp formats, no?

Giles Band, then stones. prince had the card stacked against him to begin with, what a crazy gig

are we talking here about how Prince loved using Clare Fischer for his string arrangements? that seems like something we should discuss!

im not on board w/ what louis hayes says as "did not choose the same art form" - i see more similarities in their music than differneces- two amazing artsists completely free of restriction Jazz drummer Louis Hayes is Prince's first cousin. This is from an interview with Hayes in 2001, "He is very talented but he did not choose the same art form that I did. He is the son of my mother's younger brother. My family originated from Cotton Valley, Louisiana and moved to Minneapolis back in the early 20's. My cousin's name is Prince. Although he presently goes by the name 'The Artist Known As (Ankh Symbol).' Prince is a very good musician and has been well received in the Pop Music genre. Pop, is the music he felt and that is the direction he went. I listened to people like Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk and Max Roach. They inspired me so that is the direction I chose."
