My guess is that the cause of death is going to be some kind of lethal combination of chemicals. I know she has been on sedatives and antidepressants in the past and who knows what else plus she's probably still taking that Trimspa stuff which has who knows what kind of effects when taken with other drugs. It seems pretty odd. Maybe there's nothing sinister at all about it but what a story it would be if Stern was behind it some how.

Man, we're just excited here (south central MN) that it is single digits above zero today. I think it was Sunday night on the news that they said we had been below zero for more than 83 straight hours. It was below zero on Monday as well. We also got about 3 inches of snow. I think we may be hitting the 10s or teens above zero late in the week or this weekend--woo hoo!!

Minnesota can be very odd weatherwise. It has its extremes both ways. In winter it can get brutally cold and summers with the heat/humidity can sometimes be nearly unbearable. Having lived outside of Minnestoa twice in my lifetime I can say that I really enjoy 4 distinct seasons. After the long winter, spring and early summer here are glorious and very much appreciated. With the heat of the heart of summer comes a great appreciation for early to late fall where it again is just wonderful. I think the weather extremes build a lot of character in those that choose to live here.

-13 in this part of MN this morning. -15 is forecasted for tomorrow morning! Good Gawd! Are you talking fahrenheit or centigrade? MG Fahrenheit. It's already warmed up to -7 F from earlier this morning!

Today's high in my part of Minnesota was a -2 or -3 with wind chills in the -20s and -30s.

What psychological malady has someone referring to themselves in the 3rd person all the time?

I 'm pretty sure I'll be getting at least a couple of Jimmy Heaths ordered before midnight tonight. I'm looking at "On The Trail" for sure. After that, one or both of "Triple Threat" and/or "The Thumper". I may also be throwing "The Fabulous Frank Strozier" into the mix as well. Stan Getz's "The Steamer" is excellent as are the other west coast sessions he did, "Award Winner", "Cool Sounds" and "West Coast Jazz". They're overdue for a play. I'll have to give them a spin tomorrow.

If I were to make it to Easter, it would be the longest time I've gone without buying a CD in the last 2-3 years. Then again, up until now, I haven't been trying to not buy CDs. Any other predictions I will/won't make it to at least 6 months?

How many of you missed this one?

mike this sounds like great advice. thanks for the input. Let us know what happens. If one of your bum discs is the 2nd disc, I have two extra if they can't help you out.

You're making me laugh, Mike! I think ss1 should have a grid with squares for us to pick the date you break down and buy a CD! It'll be interesting to see what happens. I'd be curious to know how long some think I will make it. Today is my last day and I'm really tempted to pick up some Jimmy Heath before my ban. Hmmmm..... I'll keep people posted here with my progress.

11/16 for me. I was erring on the side of caution. Out of my incorrect guesses, only one was a male that I thought looked female. This thread was only on page one when I started the test and on page 3 by the time I posted results!

i might have to agree. they are promo sets, but now i have a dilemna. my "major award" (allusion to "a christmas story") arrived today, and 2 of the "fearless leader" cd's are in such bad shape they will not play all the way through. do i send an email and look ungrateful, or do i just accept it as is? I think it would be OK to approach them but I would do it in a humble, low-key way. [ex.] "I was very excited to receive your mailing and want to thank you again for such a great prize package. I don't want to appear ungrateful but.....(tell your story) .... Is it possible that there is anything you could do to help me out? It would be much appreciated." I received my package today. I haven't looked it over very closely but I did find two extra discs of disc two tucked in with the booklet. That was kind of weird. The set is gorgeous but I think I'll probably end up selling it since I picked up all of Coltrane's Prestige stuff before winning the prize. I'll have to give each disc a spin to see if they're OK.
