  1. Happy to know i'm know the only one who digged this series, too bad they took all the edge away after the first year, wished the show would have been done by HBO or Showtime, they never would have made the wreck the network did. +1

  3. Not a fan of those type of compilations but it was the first time i saw music of him. A lot more festive than N'Dour
  4. That looks kind of funny on a board where so many people consider '60s Blue Note LPs as "modern jazz"... Actually, I don't.
  5. Joe Namath is over sixty also and he was not the starting quarterback yesterday ,
  6. Nothing against them, they just should not have been there at the first place.
  7. Among the things i won't miss when i'll be dead will be when i take out the clothes out of the washing machine and realize there was a Kleenex stranded in one of my pockets and you can guess the rest...
  8. By the way, didn't the Super Bowl mean spectacular ads ? I don't think there was one that stood out yeaterday.
  9. The Riddler The Joker Cat Woman
  10. Jack Sharkey Boston Gob Joseph Paul Zukauskas
  11. Watched a football game that you may have heard of.
  12. Agreed about your fisrt paragraph, would add that the Saints made the big plays on an almost mistake free game. Happy for the city NO but at the same time have a hard time to be happy for a team that includes Jeremy Shockey. Regarding The Who, wished i was out of the room, they should stop bringing those geriatric bands who aren't playing a song that has been written the 25 last years. What's next Mike Love and the Beach Boys.
  13. Going to see the Marianne Trudel quartet with guest Mark Feldman.
  14. Saw in my email this news item from JazzLoft a bundle of Waldron recordings from the label Slam, can't really say i'm familiar with this label. Anyway the bundle includes * Max Roach / Mal Waldron: Explorations... to the Nth Degree (2-CD Set) * Steve Lacy / Mal Waldron: Let's Call This... Esteem * George Haslam / Mal Waldron: Two New * Mal Waldron / George Haslam: Waldron/Haslam Sounds tasty, anybody can comment on those titles ? The 4 titles are sold for less than 40 bucks https://www.jazzloft.com/p-51564-special-5-cd-bundle-explorationesteemtwo-newwaldron-haslam.aspx
  15. The one with Springsteen last year was the first one in ages i remember watching. Heck i only learned about the Nipplegate the next day only.
  16. What you got to wonder are the demographics of the show, if they want to attract mostly 40+ white males then it makes sense to schedule these kind of bands. If they are lacking in 20-25 segment, then they'd be shooting themselves in the foot by bringing them.
  17. Shallow Hal Dumb & Dumber
  18. TV5 used at least to broadcast the quarters to the finals.
  19. Would have enjoyed watching the African cup of nations, but for whatever reason, games were only available on a PPV stream here :bwallace2:
  20. Michel Folco's latest. Don't know if the fellow has been translated in english, are they frenchies here who are digging his stuff ?
  21. Saw my Gunners getting shellacked by Manure Watching the Shobox from last friday, more important than the fights themselves, it marked the return of blow by blow man and former CNN sports guy Nick Charles who fought successfully cancer.
  22. I think they will fall but not neccessarely in love
  23. Started following the contemporary scene, watching the guys live, buying their cds, as much as i bitch about the Mtl Festival it sure helped me discovered a lot of music, read about them about their influences and started picking up what they were into which lead me to discover other musicians and other ways of playing music. In the process made my way into the "classics" and lesser known guys.
