  1. Thank you very much. Did you search http://www.archive.org/ to find this post? I didn't realize this thread was exclusively about U.S. stamps. Just being facetious. The link that I sent you to is the very same thread that we are now posting in. (see post #4 above). I know that it's in the same thread. Got to use smiley faces next time.

  3. Gerald Wilson is not dead. You have to be dead to be on a stamp.
  4. USB 2.0 transfer rates: 1,5 Mbit/s (Low Speed) 12 Mbit/s (Full Speed) 480 Mbit/s (High Speed) Let's take the protocol overhead into account and two hours/42 GB with USB 2.0 High Speed seems like a normal rate.
  5. This is my favorite Teen Town cover so far. Nice to hear musicians using Jaco's compositions to make something funny/new out of it instead of the mere chops oriented/finger acrobatic show offs (M. Miller, V. Wooten, etc. - "Hey, I can slap Teen Town-yawn")
  6. If this isn't a rhetorical question: Yes, he's Jimmy Garrison's son.
  7. What about Styx and the Contemporary Youth Orchestra?
  8. Ahhh, fellow smart ass couw.
  9. Thanks for the compliment. Hang up a shopping bag filled with sand above your notebook. That way, when your notebook starts burning, the bag melts and the sand extinguishes the fire. You better find another excuse for not wanting to transcode. Good idea. And on my way back I could stop by at Federer's place in Basel because I'm looking for a sparring partner anyway.
  10. Well, leave your computer turned on over night(s) and let it transcode.
  11. Transcode your files. http://www.freeware-base.de/freeware-zeige...ils-10963-.html for instance.
  12. I don't have an iPod or ubuPod so I don't know what I'm talking about.
  13. Durium, what's going on?
  14. Double bass n the tradition of Ludwig Streicher. Thank you, 1.75!
  15. One of these days I will start this topic ' How does your sons react to your hobby/obsession?' My ten year old daughter hates all of the jazz that I play-mainstream or any other style of jazz. It's "weird" and "embarassing". She has let me know that if any of it is playing in our parked car when her friends come close to the car, it will be the ultimate social disaster for her. My mother's car was the ultimate social disaster for me. Your situation isn't that bad.

  20. thus sprach the liliputian! anyone honestly believing this is DISQUALIFIED from voicing any opinion that even rises to the level of bullshit. he doesn't even have giant technique, tho' he's "fine" (doesn't mean i like him). NOR do i understand the goddamn effort somne of ya'll (everyone) puts into finding Winston's moments... why not give Dave Ballou the same chance, Rob Blakeslee, or Paul Smoker. there are how many Jonah Jones sides to dig if black is the color... in this history of jazz tenor, Branford is a solid light-middleweight at best; in the history of jazz as a whole, he doesn't even rank except below some general line of also rans. As far as pop music is concerned.... hah-hah. if Branford is a "giant," what the hell is Ben Webster, or Ike Quebec, or Big Toe Turner, or Bo Diddley, or Wilson Pickett, or George Clinton, or Marley Marl, or RZA? Branford = Brinsley Schwartz... MAYBE. An OK genre dude in a weak time. Wake the fuck up. He's certainly no Joe Tex or Al Green, Percy France or Bobby Bland. they call me C-... L-E-MM-Y. signed, c Need oxygen?
