That got a big laugh from me (and my wife poked me in the ribs!) during last week's "The Office." That was followed by a hilarious bit on "Parks and Recreation" where a faux-PBS station introduced their “Jazz + Jazz = Jazz” show with a recording of Benny Goodman played over a separate recording of Miles Davis. "Research shows that our listeners love jazz."

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but so far I really like ITunes 11.

Heck, I like Allen best when he's, um, not boring.

Well we can't very well talk about the "art" if we can't hear the stuff in the first place, can we?

IMO, there's no such thing as overhyping mother nature. The forecasters are in a damned if they do/don't position. Better to overhype and have everyone be prepared, but there's always some fool who thinks that he can weather it out... and often ends up needing to be rescued.

If it wasn't for this board, I would assume no one did. I've never met anyone who had any interest in professional cycling, except here. True dat!

The robotic missions are practical, necessary, and relatively cheap, but they lack the emotional and spiritual gravitas of a human mission. It's as if Hillary operated a drone to the top of Everest.

There were a hundred or so of us on the roof at work, where it looped around Universal, giving us a great view, but my wife reports that it flew directly over our house, startling her enough to drop her camera. The kids were pulled out of their classrooms to watch it fly overhead at their school as well. Really neat to see much of the city come to a standstill so that everyone could see this, making it a wonderfully communal experience.

Gimme a week or two and I'm in too!

Is 691 supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing? It seems like an incredibly big number to me for a jazz board (even if you take away the bots, etc.) and it was only a few months ago, so doesn't that contradict your "dead board walking" meme? Or are you suggesting some massive diaspora has taken place here since June?
