This just goes to show how much those damn liberals have destroyed the public school system. Man, they simply didn't have that shit when I was growing up. How the hell was I supposed to make such a decision all by myself?!
-
Damn, I wish I would have thought of that when we had that conversation!!!!
-
"No, my dick chose for me"? There is also a guy here at work that is hardcore anti-gay. He also claims to have "chosen" to be hetero.
-
But how does that explain "miso horny?" It was the work of the devil.
-
Awesome. The guy makes a whole bunch of "scientific" claims about soy, talking about studies and the like, and provides absolutely no footnotes or links to said studies or any other actual "proof". The studies were obviously "faith based". BM, I was raised in a strict Christian household. My father is prominent in his church, and my brother is an ordained Baptist minister and former Navy Chaplain. Trust me based upon my experience...........this is no scam. These folks really believe these kinds of things. When I was arguing with my father about homosexuality NOT being a lifestyle choice recently, I asked him if he "chose" to be heterosexual. Want to guess what his answer was?

Dead serious. It's almost as if they constantly look for bigger and more moronic ways to entertain us.
-
Someone had posted about this on "that other site", so I thought I'd pass it on here. From the good folks who brought you the timeless kneeslapper "Homosexuality is a lifestyle choice". http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53327

Recordings that were critical flashpoints
Scott Dolan replied to ghost of miles's topic in Miscellaneous Music
Sadly, I just don't think enough people are paying attention for there to be a "flashpoint" these days. Many of the flashpoints that have been listed happened back in the days when Jazz was still considered popular music. -

Doesn't matter. They're both god awful turds. -

Loni was too damn plastic for my tastes. Bailey was just plain hot!

This is the very BEST idea, Jim. Just make sure you start off nice and easy. Some yoga can be incredibly intensive. Best of luck, my friend. I hope you recover nicely.

Duke Ellington's version of "Nutcracker"

One of our investment officers was in NYC last week and attended the show at Lincoln Center that featured a symphony playing the original score along with Marsalis' gang doing Ellingtons version. That would have been very interesting, IMO. Has anybody in that area attended one of these performances? I was hooked on Ellingtons the very first time I heard Sugar Rum Cherry. Brilliant stuff! I also have the CJM disc that is pictured above. -

Wow! It's like a Robert Altman movie!! -
Now THAT'S a list I can get behind! Brilliant Corners. Now that's a true piece of art. And I was also kind of surprised to see Ezz-thetics. But anytime Mr. Dolphy is involved, you can count me in.

I can't imagine why. Hell, maybe it will be a big collectors item one day and I can sell it for a sweet profit! -

I believe you are referring to his experimental album Zero Tolerance For Silence, which was just a single disc. And OOP as far as I know. I have one of the ten copies of it that sold. -

The 55 minute version of My Favorite Things from the Tokyo concert. BAH!! Even I can't get with that one. -
#1,2,3, &7 here. Though I'd substitute #7 with the much better Live In Sevilla.

I would still think Ascension would have to be considered more of a flash point than Meditations. Although, expanding on your premise, I guess you could say Coltranes late period was a serious flashpoint all the way around. Especially the shock it must have created coming right after the Classic Quartet. I'll also second Machine Gun. An album that to this day I cannot stomach. -

If you do, please start with season #3. 4 wouldn't be bad either. But 3 is the place to start.

True, and true. Music licensing was a big problem there. But ultimately, the ball was dropped. The biggest problem with NE, as far as DVD release was concerned, was that there was so much incredible music that was used. And a lot of it was integral to the show (hard to explain if you haven't seen the shows). And those hardcore fans, like myself, can quickly point out where something was substituted. Luckily, certain episodes where it played a huge part in a scene have been preserved. Most notably in season 4 where a certain Enya tune was used to close out an episode (and whether you like Enya, or not, it WAS integral), and the show where Mike the bubble man left, which ended with a rather plaintive Chieftains tune. A lot of long time fans are quite pissed, but for the most part, the tunes that really need to be there, are.

I saw that line (the rapist)written on a sign next to an office many years ago on Benny Hill!!!!(and bet it was old during vaudeville) BINGO!!!! Beri, I knew I had seen that before somewhere! Man, I grew up on Benny Hill. They had a marathon of his shows on BBCA a couple of months back. I hadn't seen most of them since I was a kid. I think I laughed even harder this time around.
