  1. Awesome. The guy makes a whole bunch of "scientific" claims about soy, talking about studies and the like, and provides absolutely no footnotes or links to said studies or any other actual "proof". The studies were obviously "faith based". BM, I was raised in a strict Christian household. My father is prominent in his church, and my brother is an ordained Baptist minister and former Navy Chaplain. Trust me based upon my experience...........this is no scam. These folks really believe these kinds of things. When I was arguing with my father about homosexuality NOT being a lifestyle choice recently, I asked him if he "chose" to be heterosexual. Want to guess what his answer was?
  2. Dead serious. It's almost as if they constantly look for bigger and more moronic ways to entertain us.
  3. Someone had posted about this on "that other site", so I thought I'd pass it on here. From the good folks who brought you the timeless kneeslapper "Homosexuality is a lifestyle choice". http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53327
  4. Loni was too damn plastic for my tastes. Bailey was just plain hot!
  5. This is the very BEST idea, Jim. Just make sure you start off nice and easy. Some yoga can be incredibly intensive. Best of luck, my friend. I hope you recover nicely.
  6. One of our investment officers was in NYC last week and attended the show at Lincoln Center that featured a symphony playing the original score along with Marsalis' gang doing Ellingtons version. That would have been very interesting, IMO. Has anybody in that area attended one of these performances? I was hooked on Ellingtons the very first time I heard Sugar Rum Cherry. Brilliant stuff! I also have the CJM disc that is pictured above.
  7. Now THAT'S a list I can get behind! Brilliant Corners. Now that's a true piece of art. And I was also kind of surprised to see Ezz-thetics. But anytime Mr. Dolphy is involved, you can count me in.
  8. #1,2,3, &7 here. Though I'd substitute #7 with the much better Live In Sevilla.
  9. If you do, please start with season #3. 4 wouldn't be bad either. But 3 is the place to start.
  10. True, and true. Music licensing was a big problem there. But ultimately, the ball was dropped. The biggest problem with NE, as far as DVD release was concerned, was that there was so much incredible music that was used. And a lot of it was integral to the show (hard to explain if you haven't seen the shows). And those hardcore fans, like myself, can quickly point out where something was substituted. Luckily, certain episodes where it played a huge part in a scene have been preserved. Most notably in season 4 where a certain Enya tune was used to close out an episode (and whether you like Enya, or not, it WAS integral), and the show where Mike the bubble man left, which ended with a rather plaintive Chieftains tune. A lot of long time fans are quite pissed, but for the most part, the tunes that really need to be there, are.
  11. I saw that line (the rapist)written on a sign next to an office many years ago on Benny Hill!!!!(and bet it was old during vaudeville) BINGO!!!! Beri, I knew I had seen that before somewhere! Man, I grew up on Benny Hill. They had a marathon of his shows on BBCA a couple of months back. I hadn't seen most of them since I was a kid. I think I laughed even harder this time around.
  12. I'm wondering how Ms. Ryder can't be cute. Well, discounting the whole psycho thingy......... Big Al, you gotta at least jump into the politics forum at least once. C'mon, you know you want to.
  13. BV is good. I don't know if that company still exists though. Not a big fan of Shiner. I don't dig the single bocks. I want the dark, heavy stuff. Sammy Smiths Oatmeal Stout, baby!!
  14. Don't care for any of their other products that I've had. But the Wheat is a very well made beer. Kinda reminds me of Ybor City Calusa Wheat, which you can't find here. I'm thinking of picking up a case when we're in Florida in a couple of weeks. If you can ever find it, I highly recommend it. Probably the best Wheat I've ever had.
  15. Eh, maybe. On tap, at least. Which I did have over in Boston earlier this year. and it's definitely much better that way. So, ok. I'll give you that one. Freef, what are your thoughts on the Boulevard brews? I dig the Wheat.
  16. Fat Tire isn't as good as Bass, but neither are top shelf. As far as beer goes, I've been on a big Paulaner Salvator Double Bock kick. Nice and syrupy, 7.5% abv. Makes you feel nice and fuzzy after just a couple. For the hard stuff, I've had some Woodford Reserve as well as a 12 y.o. Balvenie Double Wood lately. Both are top notch, IMO.
  17. Seriously. I went to J&R's DVD store a couple weeks ago and was astonished at some of the shows that are out of DVD. Who is buying ALF - The Complete First and Second Season? You may as well put Small Wonder out on DVD. My other big beef is with shows like Friends, Seinfeld, etc.... Hell, if you have cable you can watch several episodes of all those shows on a daily basis!! You're damn sure not going to be watching TP or NE on any of those channels though.
  18. It took forever and a day for them to release the Northern Exposure seasons, and both of those shows were on around the same time. I believe TP was just winding down as NE was starting to get a bit popular. Both were great shows, and it's been rather aggravating waiting for their DVD release, especialy when so many other crap shows are already out.
  19. That's the all time best right there. I don't know which is funnier, when Hammond said that line, or Ferrel's follow up to it.
  20. Cool. You should pop in over there sometime. Hell, it's even civil most of the time. And one more voice is always a good thing.
