  1. Still...$15 for a CDR? No thanks, it's a ripoff. Sell a .FLAC download for $9.99 with a .pdf of the artwork and it would be worth it.
  2. I don't think I'd want to try to play that one sitting down. It's called the "triryche" custom made by ESP and is a variation on their logo design:
  3. The week is young, but so far it's "Eddy's Dilemna" from Lem's Beat with Oliver Nelson. The type of laid-back groove that always gets me.
  4. Tony Dungy is expected to announce his retirement this afternoon, 5pm press conference scheduled.
  5. Watching the Golden Globes. Three cheers for Kate Winslet who won both best supporting actress (for The Reader) and best actress (for Revolutionary Road). Bout time she actually WON some of these awards she's always nominated for...an excellent actress in everything she does.
  6. The Cardinals host the NFC Championship game...I doubt a single person predicted that at the beginning of the season.
  7. The Titans should have had at LEAST a 14 point lead on the Ravens at halftime (maybe even 21 points)...I felt bad for Kerry Collins because he played well, but for some reason everyone around him kept coughing up the football in the red zone. *note* - The Ravens should have gotten a delay of game penalty that wasn't called on their final scoring drive. Other than the one big bomb touchdown pass, the Ravens offense was rather stagnant tonight, if the Titans could have gotten a lead on them I don't think they would have caught up. I'm really beginning to think that how teams play "down the stretch" doesn't mean squat in the playoffs. If you win your division and get in...it's anybody's game. The Cardinals clinched their division early, they didn't have much to play for in the final few games...and they were sleepwalking through the last few weeks of the season. But as I said, the playoffs are here now and there is no such thing as a "sure thing" in the playoffs.
  8. I'm really happy for Arizona (and Kurt Warner), no team was more overlooked entering the playoffs. Their defense has really come on strong...and Larry Fitzgerald isn't human. When they play next week they should have Boldin back in the lineup. I'm actually going to root for the Eagles tomorrow...because then Arizona would host the NFC Championship game. How odd has this season been?
  9. Here, here!!!! Happy Birthday!!! I hope you didn't invite these guys....
  10. Sorry, I know it's not funny, but it's funny.
  11. to continue on Jim's food scenario... Wynton's playing...all the ingredients are there, but there is no flavor.
  12. That is a BEAUTIFUL guitar!!!!! Thanks for the link, I'll give it a shot.
  13. Green Tea Hot & Sour Soup
  14. Is there a way to find out what year a specific Gibson was produced by the serial number?
  15. Doesn't Squire own the rights to the name Yes? I thought that was the reason for "Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman & Howe".
  16. It was the Kramer connection I was sort of referencing.
  17. Anything in the "Moodsville" style, solo piano, classical guitar, soundtracks...substitute the beer for a "J".
  18. So, when are you guys coming to Austin?
  19. Love Arlen's tunes! Stormy Weather, Come Rain Or Come Shine, One For My Baby, etc. He also wrote "Ding Dong, The Witch Is Dead"!
  20. I can't believe Pacman ever made it back INTO the league in the first place...how many shootings, altercations, strip clubs and other various things do you have to be involved in? Jerry Jones really needs to concentrate on building some team chemistry instead of trying to sign those quick fix band-aid players.
  21. I laughed until I thought I was going to puke watching this one....
  22. I really like James Clay's reading on the Tenorman album...it's taken at a bright tempo and really swings.

    Leon Spencer

Leon is also one of my favorites, of all those "Legends Of Acid Jazz" discs his is probably the one I've played the most. The last time I heard he was living in Houston.
  24. Yeah, that Merrill disc is great...Shorter really goes "elsewhere" without ever leaving "here". I can't pick a single performance of this song, it's one of my favorite standards and I tend to enjoy multiple different takes on it.
