  1. Up. Last chance before the cheap stuff goes to the used CD store and the other items go to ebay. Thanks, Shawn
  2. I like it! Very "Dream Theater-ish", but without the bombast overdose. Have a release date planned yet?
  3. Congrats! I'll be checking this out most definitely. Don't forget Derek also played on these:
  4. Not that I disagree, but which label is the pre-eminent jazz label??? Whichever one makes the least amount of money.
  5. Well, I got the answer: "The first and fifth digits (7 and 9) are the year. The second, third and fourth digits (3, 1 and 4) are the day of the year. The last three numbers are the production number. So your guitar was built on the 314th day of 1979 (november 10th, I believe) and the production number is 76." As for the tremolo I'm trying to find out whether that was available at the time or not. The tremolo is branded Gibson and has the phrase "U.S. Pat Applied For" on it. The previous owner once told me it was a Floyd Rose before it was patented, but I'm not sure if that's correct or not.
  6. I think I've narrowed down the search on finding out the year of my guitar. The Gibson Explorer E2 was only manufactured from 1979-1983, the serial number on mine starts with a 7 so I'm guessing it's a 79. I've searched around online and the one odd thing is I haven't found any pictures of my model guitar that has the locking tremolo. I registered over at the Gibson forum in hopes that someone there can solve the mystery. I gotta get a digital camera...
  7. If you have a regular line out jack on your pre-amp you shouldn't need to buy anything, just run it directly into your soundcard. I use a Soundblaster Audigy card and have had good results with it.
  8. Thanks for the info Kevin. I was just reading up on the Texas state rules regarding debt collection...and there's not a helluva lot they can do to a Texas resident.
  9. After doing a quick search online I found many reports of this place being a scam outfit. The debt they are talking to me about is valid...but they offered to settle for a ridiculous percentage of the original owed amount and then started talking about them adding another $2000 in court costs and other various fees on top of what I owe if I don't settle this out of court. It smells like bullshit, but it's also got me scared so bad I'm literally shaking. Here's a quick blurb I found on the net. Any Advice would be much appreciated. 10. I talked to my Manpower Professional recruiter this morning and she thinks there's a possibility that she might be able to place me at a position in Dallas. I'd hate to move again but if it's a decent offer I doubt I would be able to turn it down.
  11. That's pretty much what it always feels like coming out of intravenous anesthesia.
  12. I really enjoyed the movie, as Jim states it's flawed...but the "vibe" is right and Cheadle is a fascinating actor to watch in anything.
  13. First Sangrey starts listening to Stan Kenton...now Big Al is listening to On The Corner. Repent! The End Is Nigh!
  14. Jimi Hendrix - Trash Man (from Hear My Music) Absolutely stunning. mind blowing, beautiful and soul enriching.

  16. If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me? I am no longer infected! Drop your panties, I cannot wait till lunchtime!
  17. The only disc of solo Debussy I currently own is this one: Philippe Entremont - recorded 1959. Not sure what the critical consensus of these recordings are, I enjoy them but would be open to suggestions from here. Thanks, Shawn
  18. On first glance, I was thinking of who holds the record for having the most dead people buried in their backyard....
  19. Up for air.
  20. Very good posts by Jim and Lon...and I find myself falling somewhere in the middle between these two viewpoints.
  21. Hey, look at it this way...Keith Richards has been dead for at least a decade and he's still recording.
  22. He has a point.
  23. I loved L.A. Story...but that's been quite awhile ago. The only recent films I've seen him in that I really liked were "The Spanish Prisoner" (1997) and "Shopgirl" (2005). Bowfinger had it's moments as well.
