  1. So what did you think of it? I first saw it as a teen when I snuck into a screening held for a film studies class I was not enrolled in. It wowed me then and I have seen it several times since. It remains my all-time favorite dramatic film. Enjoyed it. Can understand why it was so influential. Not convinced by 'the greatest film of all time' hype but that sort of thing generally passes me by. I'm not a film buff. Have to say I didn't see the 'Rosebud' ending coming until about a minute before the climax. The main flaw in that film is nobody was around to actually hear him say "Rosebud".
  2. Fripp seems quite amused at the whole lip-synching nature of that program. He's not as entertaining as Ian Anderson when he would "perform" on that show, but it's still fun to watch.
  3. 2 pieces of toast and coffee.
  4. Kenny Burrell - Up The Street, 'Round The Corner, Down The Block (1974)
  5. Purson at The Viper Room in West Hollywood. Opeth at The Hollywood Palladium.
  6. You are describing keystone, as Alan mentioned above you have to make sure the camera is exactly parallel to the surface of the album when taking the photo to keep this from happening. This same thing happens with projectors when you have to angle them up or down to project an image onto the screen.
  7. 60 degrees & sunny in Los Angeles.
  8. Enjoy, at the expense of the employees of all the movie and television studios that provide your free entertainment.
  9. Then wait until the film is legally distributed in your country...or if you really don't think the film is worth a cent then don't watch it at all.
  10. Or you could do the honest thing and actually pay to watch the movie since many legal options are available for streaming.
  11. Just listened to it a couple hours ago...it fits together perfectly with Theme From Blow Up off the Oblique album.
  12. Another f---ing dressmaker.
  13. Grammar and Vocabulary seem to have vanished almost completely from the education system.
  14. The original Japanese version is a must-see film, serious and scary (and the effects have a quaint charm of their own). Highly recommended.
  15. Black Sabbath - Live At Hammersmith Odeon (Jan 1982, 3LP set)
  16. I watch the show and find it can be entertaining but the "witty dialogue" drives me crazy. I mean, are we to believe news production rooms are filled with 20 and 30 something mensa members talking facts, stats, data and obscure references off the cuff with each comment or response to being cuter than the other. We've all watched the news. Does this seem even plausible? It's a fictional TV show, it's not a documentary. The dialogue is punched up for entertainment purposes...and I'm entertained by it.
  17. Opeth was phenomenal as expected. It was a short set because of the dual-headlining arrangement (In Flames & Opeth both played roughly 75 minutes a piece) but it was definitely quality and hit highlights of both their progressive and more metallic moments. Setlist: (same set as the Warfield gig from the night before) 1. Eternal Rains Will Come (Pale Communion) 2. Cusp Of Eternity (Pale Communion) 3. The Drapery Falls (Blackwater Park) 4. The Moor (Still Life) - they've done some really nice re-arranging of the mid-section of this song, I hope they release it at some point. 5. Windowpane (Damnation) 6. The Lotus Eater (Watershed) 7. Deliverance (Deliverance) Hearing both Windowpane and Deliverance was a treat, two of my favorite Opeth songs. Can't wait till they come back through with their longer set next year.
  18. They just played here on Monday - I missed it. Let us know how the show is! They will be coming back for a second leg of the tour in the spring, playing smaller venues and doing two 90-minute sets.
  19. Black Mirror (UK)
  20. Opeth at the Hollywood Palladium tonight.
  21. The Newsroom - season 3. Loving this season and heartbroken it's the last one. Grey's Anatomy - It's a typical hospital show, nothing I haven't seen before but I enjoy the genre when the mood strikes.
