  1. I'm looking forward to seeing 50/50, but I've been working so much recently that it will probably have to wait until it shows up on blu-ray. Last night I watched the new TV show "GRIMM" from David Greenwalt (Angel, Buffy). Very entertaining, real nice creepy vibe...not sure about the lead actor, he's a little flat in the pilot, but I enjoyed the rest.
  2. On lunch break right now and the snow is coming down hard. This sucks. My Mother sent me an email and said it's snowing in West Virginia today as well, looks like winter is starting early back east.
  3. Mid 70's, Sunny.
  4. Starting on Season 3 of 30 Rock
  5. Second viewing of this one, I still really like the vibe of this movie. It feels just right.
  6. I was hanging around with a different crowd when 'The Smiths' were all the rage. They were the "120 minutes" crowd, I was in the "Headbanger's Ball" crowd. Those two crowds shared almost nothing in common. ...although I did like The Cure during that era...I was just careful who I mentioned that to so I wouldn't get beaten to a pulp by enraged Slayer fans.
  7. The Anita O'Day set is wonderful, one of the Mosaic's I've revisited the most (along with the Mobley)
  8. THE THING (2011) The third variation on John W. Campbell's "Who Goes There?" is a love letter to the 1981 Carpenter film, functioning essentially as both prequel and reinvention. Surprisingly entertaining film is more "creature feature" than Carpenter's suspense based version. The ending feels a little disjointed but overall it's a fun little horror/sci-fi mashup with impressive effects.
  9. I laughed and laughed watching this one, highly recommended. Jennifer Aniston practically walks away with the film, she's a firecracker here.
  10. I just started watching "30 ROCK" on Netflix and I LOVE IT! Funny show!
  11. I'm liking all the positive reviews, I need to pick this up.
  12. How popcorn movies should be made.
  13. FIREFLY - decided it was time to revisit this, one of my favorite shows.
  14. Guess the Seahawks finally woke up and realized it wasn't the preseason any longer. Raiders won again, San Francisco won...the west coast is looking a little less pathetic this year (both conferences)
  15. Jumping around among various things on Netflix. Episodes of Law and Order, Angel, Supernatural and American Pickers.
  16. I've always felt the attitude of the Raiders was a direct reflection of Al. That made me admire him, but I also knew I wouldn't want to hang out with the guy. "Raider Rule #1 - THERE ARE NO RULES"
  17. Fringe - I gotta say I was pretty bored with last week's episode, I barely stayed awake through it.
  18. I liked Moore (until he got too old for the part around Octopussy era). He "was" Bond when I was growing up, I saw "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "Moonraker" in the theater before I ever saw my first Connery bond film.
  19. Wow, what a loss. His innovations will continue to be felt for a long time to come.
  20. DIANA RIGG!!!!!!
  21. Packers I think people could have predicted...the Lions? That was like seeing pigs fly. Coming back from 20+ point deficits 2 weeks in a row to win shows me they are building some character in Detroit. 'bout friggin' time.
  22. Next week on Monday Night Football is the Bears at the Lions, that should be quite an entertaining game.
  23. Scream 4 - unfortunately just as tired as the type of film it's trying to satirize. Nothing works here. Not a single suspenseful moment, horrible pacing, uninspired in every possible way. Craven must have really needed the paycheck on this one, he's seriously on autopilot.
  24. When he passed away I don't think I had yet heard anything by him, however I do remember seeing the announcement of his passing on Entertainment Tonight. Glad I discovered him later!
