  1. If it was 1970, I might be concerned with whoever is in control of Blue Note. It's 2011.
  2. I'm glad there are people that can get comfort from the Bible, and also glad for being left alone by that group. As for Bill, I have no opinion until the verdict comes down.
  3. Here is "Track One" from Wilson's upcoming Grace For Drowning album. (the joke is that this song is track 3 on the disc). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nP6fqrzsLOM This album and the new Opeth should help turn the tide on a utterly lackluster 2011.
  4. Excellent cast in this upcoming Paul Rudd movie "Our Idiot Brother" (Emily Mortimer, Zooey Deschanel and Elizabeth Banks). Should be fun with this bunch in front of the camera.
  5. Thanks guys!
  6. There was some "economy" used in the storytelling for a change. They didn't beat you over the head with exposition, instead they respected the intelligence of the audience. That by itself is very refreshing in a big budget flick like that. I think the Spiderman flicks worked because Raimi loved the material and it shows.
  7. Both films are highly entertaining, but I voted for The Godfather. Not sure about "best sequel", I'd probably pick Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan for best overall sequel.
  8. Dogs can learn the phrase "no biting", try using that phrase over and over while working through this. Eventually just saying the phrase will cause the dog to stop.
  9. Image Shack is another hosting service.
  10. thanks for the review. I'll probably wait till that hits DVD before I get around to it, but I like the cast (Gosling and Emma Stone especially) so I'm sure I'll watch it eventually.
  11. lol. That would work in place of morning coffee! Thanks for the birthday wishes gang.
  12. Happy Birthday again! Hope you are enjoying your day. Cheers, Shawn
  13. Probably, for the "offline listening" stuff...interesting new terminology for downloading there. But I think the primary selling points are streaming on mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, etc) and the increased audio quality that you get with the premium tier. All enticing but not necessary for me at this stage.
  14. I sent him an email, I'll post if he responds.
  15. I've mainly just been using it to sample things, I don't think I've listened to an entire album yet. Just using the free service thus far, maybe if I get an iPad or something I'll get the premium version, for now I'm fine with free and a few commercials now and again.
  16. If I was rich I would be there, but I can't afford to go out locally let alone to Germany. Hope it goes well.
  17. Vanilla with Hershey's syrup. Simple pleasures.
  18. That's a great record.
  19. There is a volume slider in the youtube window itself, I've accidentally changed that before. Sounds like your system volume is normal.
  20. Premonition 13 - "13" (orange marbled vinyl)
  21. The perception of jazz I think is harmed more by "dinner jazz" and "lounge jazz", bland, predictable, safe and non-invasive background music at upscale restaurants, hotel bars and coffee shops.
  22. I heard jazz described as "music for the old folks home" recently, I was going to mount an argument, but then realized I didn't have much ammunition to counteract the unfortunate accuracy of that remark.
  23. If I was wanting to make a living playing music, I don't think "jazz" would be the description I would seek out...in fact "avoid like the plague" would be more likely. I'd rather be classified as something enjoyed by more than 2% of the record buying public.
  24. 76 & clear at 6:17pm.
