Last Thursday night, Mike LeDonne Trio at Blues Alley. Friday night: First, Henry Threadgill, Vijay Iyer and Dafnis Prieto at 92ndNY. Second, Artemis at Birdland. Saturday night: Dave Holland/Chris Potter/Brian Blade at Dizzy's (Last minute substitutions for Azar Lawrence, who cancelled due to illness). Second, Tyshawn Sorey Trio (Aaron Diehl and Harish Raghovan) at the Village Vanguard. The indisputable best of this series of concerts were the Henry Threadgill concert and Tyshawn Sorey at the VV. Both were fantastic.
