  1. I've started taking CDs (lots of 'em) to school to leave in my office. It's really made a lot more space at home. Problem solved, for now.....
  2. Now that looks like a place I'd like to hang! Very nice, Mike!
  3. I really like this cover- it was designed by Tom Hannan. Did he do other BN covers? I discovered I didn't have this and ordered it from DG. It showed up today along with another one I didn't have: (note the mispelling of Frank Rehak's name, and hardly a complementary variation at that)
  4. No, not until you mentioned it. Thanks, now there's no way I can possibly enjoy this music.
  5. Extreme jealousy here. Have fun! If you can get to the Salt Lick in Driftwood (Austin hill country) I think it would also be worth your while. They're great. You can use newspaper- I use little paraffin cubes. Nice to avoid lighter fluid completely.
  6. Happy Birthday 2009 Tom!
  7. Sue Ellen Mishke was the braless O'Henry heir. Sidra (Teri Hatcher) was the "they're real and they're spectacular" girl. But I think I know where you're coming from.
  8. Maybe its better in the performance but that transcript reads like a typical shitty SNL sketch, one of hundreds that made it increasingly impossible to watch over the last ten years, if not longer. SNL has been guilty forever of ***PREMISE OVERLOAD***. 1.) An idea is made into a sketch, but wears thin after about 30 seconds. But they keep at it. 2.) A sketch/character does well, becomes a regular thing and gets run into the ground (or is made into a movie) Worst SNL movies? It's Pat! (pretty much went straight to video) Superstar Stuart Saves His Family (featuring Senator Al Franken) The Coneheads movie wasn't terrible, it just was made too long after the popularity of the characters was at its peak. Blues Brothers was excellent IMO, Wayne's World was OK, but both sequels suffered from severe ***PREMISE OVERLOAD***
  9. No question. And don't forget your Schweddy Ball Sack.
  10. ...and a game can only be played when someone else participates. I don't use the ignore function here, but I do avoid engaging those who seem to be simply baiting for a response. We empower these guys by getting sucked in to their BS.
  11. me too!!! I think there needs to be a board limit on ecstatic smilies and exclamation points!!!!!! :excited:
  12. Yeah Twinkies!
  13. Conn, I believe that the greatest of all time was Terry Bradshaw. I think that he was the most accurate passer of all time, often throwing between three defenders to get the ball to Lynn Swann. And in addition, what many people don't know is that he called his own plays. And, of course, he was a winner, winning four Super Bowls. The other to keep in mind is Otto Graham. He was a little before my time, but no one can top this: He played pro ten years, and played in the league championship game every year. Bob Griese? Bart Starr? Roger Staubach? Broadway Joe? We are lucky to see so many first rate QBs right now.
  14. That is OUTSTANDING news! Some new KD is a reason to celebrate!!
  15. That means we're stuck with you? Unless I don't get my Trane box set. If that happens I'm totally going postal.
  16. Jim's board, Jim's call. Other than Joe & Randy, the rest of us are guests. I'll abide by whatever Jim wants to do on his board. I always have the option to not hang out here. That seems fair to me.
  17. It's that time again! Happy Birthday Glenn!
  18. Prestige sideman sessions (Mal Waldron, Red Garland, Gene Ammons etc.). The other two related boxes are his leader and co-leader sessions. See post #51 for a link to the specific recordings included.
  19. Un-friend you on Facebook? :rsmile:
  20. Just got my shipping notice! It's on its way!
  21. Tonight's football game is pretty good, in case anyone is interested.
  22. Interesting game so far. Childress couldn't throw his challenge flag in time- too bad, I think he had a case on that deflection/catch.
  23. True dat. The Cowboys offense wore out the Cowboys defense. They simply ran out of gas, aloowing the Broncos two touchdowns on two straight possessions. Coincidentally I was flying from Denver to Dallas while this game was on. I watched most of the fourth quarter while waiting for my flight at DFW. Great game, great win for the Broncos. Romo is really have a tough year- a few great plays overshadowed by a few awful plays.
