I agree with John's assessment. Definitely a pick-up gig, lots of stars but not the touring band. Still, an enjoyable set with lots of good playing. Surprising that it isn't longer than it is.

I like this one a lot, of course I'm a fan of both Bob Brookmeyer & Kenny Wheeler, and like pretty much everything they've done.

Crazy game by Iowa/Indiana today- another big comeback by the Hawkeyes. Amazing that they can play so badly (5 interceptions by the Iowa QB!) and still come back to win handily. Another big fold for Indiana, two weeks in a row they've allowed their opponent to come back from way down. That looming game w/Ohio State is looking big. Also, one the commentators today described the Hawkeyes as "poultry in motion"- I thought that was a good one. Florida State won in a high scoring shootout too. If Texas wins it will be a good day for my teams.

I believe that poster to be an accurate source, my understanding is that she passed away from injuries received in the accident. Very sad news. RIP

You could always move to Arizona - no DLS there. Isn't there someplace in Indiana where they also don't change? The clocks went back last week in Europe, not in America. I believe they use the Julian calendar too. Cannonball knows all about the changes.

This Sunday morning @ 2:00am. I like the fall time change, it means an extra hour of sleep.

I have it, it's good, just kinda more of the same though. Great recording, nice tunes, great playing by Hamilton and the others, nice arrangements. Overall very pleasant. Though I do think there's a formulaic approach here that is reaching *premise overload* level.

Normally I'd view this as an opportunity to catch up on some listening, but when I was sick I didn't feel like listening to music or reading at all. Just lots of sleep and mindless TV. Yuck. Feel better soon!
